Sometimes it’s not the book, it’s the timing ⏳… and sometimes it’s just the book 🙈📚.
This shelf is where I keep all the stories I couldn’t finish whether they didn’t click with me, weren’t my vibe at the moment, or simply couldn’t hold my attention. And that’s okay! Reading should always feel like joy, not a chore ✨💌.
💭 Spicy Question for you:
👉 What was the last book YOU DNF’d, and why? 😅 Do you push through until the end no matter what, or do you believe in quitting when it doesn’t spark joy? 🌙🔥

i definetly go by a 50 page rule! (with reason of course if its pretty dense i might do more like 30) if i dont like it enough to want to know what happens or care about the characters by 50 pages in, i DNF it. i tend to have MANY books on my shelf at once because i hate the idea of officially DNFing books but then i get overwhelmed and slumpy and just MASS remove everything from my goodreads currently reading shelf, my physical currently reading drawer in my nightstand, and my shelf on Libby too. i think it feels good to clean house! to start fresh helps me out of a slump so good!!! never force yourself to read a book you dont like! theres books for everyone and every mooooood!!

the last book i DNF'd was The Sun and her Flowers by Rupi Kaur. i read Milk and Honey and liked it, and there is NOTHING wrong with her book at all, im just not in the mood so im going to read something fantasy instead. i really want to read oceans godori. looks so gooooododddddd
