Fantasy beta/alpha swap on WIP fantasy: Whispers to Dragons - approx. 80K words

newest »

I've got a few things if you're interested, I can send the list. Right now, I'd like a set of eyes on Fall of Dragonfall. This draft is finished at 50k.
Elliot Sinclair is finally in shackles. The master thief turned traitor to the floating continent of Dragonfall will be turned over to the riders in the morning. It might only be a few hours, but he tells his story.
It begins with him boarding a ferry to the Dragonfall with one simple goal; to destroy as many dragon eggs as possible. Someone has to teach the riders they aren't invincible. It isn't long before he finds himself in Deacon, the capital.
Let me know if you're interested.

I have a finished novel (untitled) of 67K involving elves, magic, and gods.
Five elves from the five different territories are born with unique magic and a connection to not just any prophecy, but the Final Prophecy. One day, someone arrives from a secret society to inform them of their role in the prophecy. Will they be able to restore balance to the world?
Let me know if you'd like to swap!

New to this thread and writing in general. Had this idea for a fantasy novel for a while and finally started to dive into it this year. Would really like some feedback on what's working and what's not, how it feels to read it, and any development advice you've got.
A swap would be most welcome. ☺︎ I have 87K words into it so far, could increase depending on timing of the swap. Anything you've got around that word count or less would work, and I like any kind of fantasy, thriller, mystery, crime, etc. I love to dive into new books, and I would be interested in chapter by chapter swaps first to get a feel, then take it from there. Feedback can be as much or as little as you need. Any content warnings, just give me a heads up!
I'd like to preface that there will be some grammatical typos (very rough draft, hoping to get an idea more of how the plot/characters flow and less about the errors, hopefully it does not take away from the reading experience, and I'm working through it to clean them up!)
Here's the little blurb! - A son, coping from the recent death of his father, tries to navigate his new position as a king's captain and protector of the king's second son. A fantasy story about living with grief, strengthening bonds, and fighting dragons of course.
**content warning: some violence, death, loss, and grief
Thanks all! If interested, let's exchange emails.
Kudos!
