Okay this book lost me a couple times but I finished it and it was a fast read. I also learned a lot about bees in a short amount of time. I didn't know that you could take a queen from her hive and put her into a different hive to take over. Also, how you can just go out and find new bees to put into a hive was interesting. Clearly, I know nothing about bees because I stay far far away. I'm not allergic but I'm the generation who watched My Girl and I don't like bees.

Another note, what is sea bream? Is it like their version of lobster in that country?

I think sea bream is a fish. I remember My Girl - lol.

With everything going on in the US - and the world as well - there was a lot I liked about the book and its sly humor, and the way it poked into so much of the hypocrisy that we had grown accustomed to in this day and age. Buying believers, entitled capitalists - funny how money meant very little to the uber-rich, who just wanted power; and to the uber-poor, who just wanted clothes and food. I also like the idea of the ardent swarm - that banded together those with less individual power can take out a predator by the heat the swarm makes.

It did do a good job of relating things to the US right now. I hadn't really thought about the ardent swarm in that way before. I wouldn't mind having an ardent swarm come into the world right about now.
