This post is going to give you a quick and basic summary of how the panels at the Special Events Hall are going to work. For those of you that were not there last year, the Special Events Hall is a room that is MUCH larger than all the other panel rooms. They are for the events that are anticipated to be highly attended. As a result of last year's safety issues and complaints on how things were set up for those panels, BookCon has taken everyone's feedback and changed the way those panels will be run.

The panels in the special events hall will be:
Satarday:
1. Mindy Kaling in conversation with BJ Novak @ 11:00AM - 12:00PM
2. Nick Offerman's GUMPTION revival @ 2:30PM - 3:30PM
3. Aziz Ansari/MODERN ROMANCE @ 4:15PM - 5:15PM
4. Paper Towns Film Panel with John Green @ 6:00PM - 7:00PM

Sunday:
1. Vlogger to Author @ 11:00AM - 12:00PM

For the official information see this link:
http://www.thebookcon.com/Events/Spec...

The summarized version:
1. View the whiteboards inside the Queue Hall to see which Special Events Hall Panels have reached maximum capacity and which still have space available.
Head to the back left of the Queue Hall to line up in the chute for the specific Special Events Hall Panel you want to see.
2. Wait in line until Security puts a Panel-specific wristband on you.
3. Do not leave the line until you have a wristband on your wrist.
4. If you leave the line after getting your wristband, arrive at least 35 minutes prior to the Panel start time.
5. Make sure your wristband is on your wrist and visible.
6. Head into the chute labeled for that Panel and wait until you are let in.

If you have any questions on clarifying the process, feel free to ask here or message BookCon. They are quick to respond and very informative. However, if you want a more informal answer, comment here.

Good luck to all trying to get in!!

Thanks.
So, sorry for repeating, just the events you listed?
What about for the other panels? Do you need to get there early?

For all panels you should show up early. The Special Events Hall Panels just have a different protocol. For regular panels you simply line up and go in when they let you. For those you may need to show up between 10 and 40 minutes before maybe. These are just rough guesses based off of my experience last year. For some maybe more, for others maybe even less. Ask around and see what other people are doing and try to base it off of that.

Yes! This is what the BookCon website says:

As a BookCon VIP, you receive first access to seats in the Special Events Hall on both Saturday and Sunday. You must be in the designated VIP Line (this will be clearly marked with a sign) in the Queue Hall in 1C at least 20 minutes prior to that Special Events Hall Panel start time in order to gain first access and receive a wristband. You will be let into the room first and have first choice of any seats you want at each Special Events Hall Panel. If you are not in line at this time, you will not receive first access and may forfeit your seat in that Special Events Hall Panel.

Hope this helps!

Amp | 11 comments FYI: Queue Hall will open at 8am each day! That means you can line up for any of the SEH panels to get your wristband then. There will be a separate line for the showfloor/panels not in SEH
