I haven't read this, sound interesting

I read this last year - it was interesting and I liked it, but it wasn't until the ending that I really loved it. The book ended on the most exquisite extended metaphor - really remarkable, like Woolf at her best!
The narrator has a bit of a chip on his shoulder (which some could find off putting), but as the story progresses, it's pretty obvious there's good reasons for it.

Same here. Although I have been leaning towards his Berlin books...
I've been wanting to read the Berlin books too Leslie, but I suspect those will be very different from A Single Man.
