I hate getting library books with pen marks and scribbles and stains in them...you've gotta respect your books; people! :)

There was a time I didn't... no, wait... when I was a kid I got in trouble for drawing a crucified Jesus in a blank page of a bible. Seemed reasonable, to me.

Fiction books no. Although most of my books are on kindle now and I do use the bookmark and highlight functions.

And if I've borrowed a book (like via Lenro) then I can't even imagine writing on it. For me that book is a "trust" on me by someone:)

Whenever we read a book together, as a family, I will write the date we started and ended. Maybe occasionally a message about where/when/what or if we liked it.
Since we homeschool I will write the grade level in a book.
But I do write notes and highlight in ebooks. Sometimes several members of our family will read at the same time and we'll discuss that way.

No. If I need to take notes in class then I'll use a notebook and I have a special way of taking notes that works for me.
Absolutely not!!!! I consider that defacing a book. The only book I seriously considered writing in was Gone Girl but only because I hated it so much. I also considered through it out the window when I was done with it.
