I promise I'm starting this soon! i've been so busy with school and doctor visits! I honestly saw three different doctors this week. :(

I'm sorry. I'll have to wait until next month to start this. I have a book to read for one of my final exams, so I've been busy with that.

Don't worry, that will probably happen with me but if I started early I will put spoiler tags. You can always just catch up.

Okay, I'm going to post thoughts through chapter 4 when I get home.☺️

Chapter 1: (view spoiler)[Okay, i get Moroi are vampires, but are Dhampirs their feeders/protectors or something? I feel that the sentences are too short and wish more descriptive verbs were used. Okay, enter classic tall, dark and handsome with a drastic announcement. Honestly, why did this have to be so cliche? (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 2: (view spoiler)[Why doesn't Lissa want to go back to the academy? What are Strigoi? I like how the world building is not overwhelming and how information isn't dumped all at once. The descriptions of the academy are very detailed and I like how I can get a sense of how things are laid out. What is so special about the bond between Lissa and Rose? I wish Rose weren't as reckless as she is especially because she wants to protect Lissa. I can't wait to see what the two conjure up and see if they escape or not. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 6: (view spoiler)[I admire Lissa's spark and personality and wish we could see more of that. I also really like the flashbacks and stories of before Rose and Lissa left the academy. I think Rose has good intentions but her recklessness gets in the way and doesn't allow her to think of what's best at times. I hope to see some major growth in Rose. Also, I like how she doesn't treat Lissa with kid gloves because her family died and she's the last royal in the bloodline. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 12: (view spoiler)[I really like the friendship between Lissa and Rose because they both try and protect each other and they understand each other. Seeing the growth in both these girls is amazing because not a lot of time has passed. I really like how Rose has become more responsible and less reckless. Likewise, Lissa has been taking charge and isn't acting like a spoiled royal princess.

On the other hand, Mia really annoys me and I don't understand why she's being so rude to Lissa. Honestly, the roomers she's spreading about Lissa and Rose are completely unnecessary as she's already stolen Lissa's boyfriend. At the same time, I don't think Rose should have spread roomers about Mia either.

I don't know how to feel about Dimitri at the moment. I really like his serious attitude but I'm not sure about him. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 20: (view spoiler)[What? I really like how everything in this book is being revealed and how the characters are growing more and more. I especially love the flashbacks and all the research Rose is doing to help her friend. (hide spoiler)]

End: (view spoiler)[I absolutely love the new take on vampires and the inclusion of four different races, Moroi, Strigoi, humans, and Dhampirs. Also, I really liked all of the character development in everyone. I'm kind of shocked at Victor's actions but I completely understand how he might of thought he was doing the best thing. The way everything was revealed about the characters and their pasts was really different and refreshing and I liked how it was set in a high schoolesc setting. (hide spoiler)]

Prologue: (view spoiler)[I absolutely love the last line! I think including a recap in a narrative style of what happened in Vampire Academy was a smart move especially for people who aren't reading the series back-to-back. Having the recap also helps cover the essentials and refresh one's memories of the world. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 1: (view spoiler)[Wow! That's intense! Can I just say how much I love this narration? I mean, Rose just gives all of the serious situations a lighter feel without taking away from their severity. If, like she said, everything is changing, I can't wait to see what happens! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 2: (view spoiler)[Wow, that massacre. I can't believe how many people the strigoi killed and children at that. I have to admit, I really like how the surveillance was written and how, in the end, Rose was tested after all. Seeing the delicate balance between Rose and Christian over sharing Lissa is nice because it leaves room for development. (hide spoiler)]

No, don't apologize, I completely understand. I'm trying to read now as I can't read over the weekend much.

Chapter 3: (view spoiler)[Again, I really like the easy banter between Rose and Mason. Also, can I just say that I loved the training session between her and Dimitri because of how sarcastic he was. (hide spoiler)]

I will read more this weekend, I didn't have time last night I had a double header for softball and got home late and I was exhausted, I made it through the prologue. (view spoiler)[ I am interested to see what happens with her relationship with Demetri knowing that they have been checking each other out makes me intrigued. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 4: (view spoiler)[Wow, her antagonism is extreme. I can't believe how heated things were getting between Rose and her mother. It seems both of them need to sit down and talk things out. Pointing out your child's soft spots seems kinda rude. It's completely obvious Dimitri still likes Rose even though he's trying not to. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 5: (view spoiler)[I really like Tasha's light personality. The fact she can discuss the attack in such an easy-going way is admirable. Like Rose, I think she should have a guardian just in case she's attacked by more than one strigoi. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 6: (view spoiler)[Again, the tension between the two is astounding. I can't believe Rose actually asked her mom is she'd picked the best specimen to produce with! I think her mom was truly sorry for hitting her so hard in the face because it was just a gut reaction. The fact that she didn't visit Rose in the hospital shows that she wanted to give Rose time and that she didn't know how to apologize. At the same time, I think that she was the person the doctor was talking to when she reported Rose was fine. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 7: (view spoiler)[I like how the friendship between Rose and Lissa is evolving and how they both seem to protect each other.

I wonder what's up with the dark feelings and the ensuing ripple in the bond as its the second time that's happened. Are they just disappearing or is Rose taking them?

I can't believe Mia's behavior! I understand that Lissas brother used her, but to take out her hatred on Lissa and Rose is uncalled for. Also, she was extremely rude and didn't take into consideration that Rose had some personal issues. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 8: (view spoiler)[Wow! Speaking of not wanting to see or be seen doing stuff with a partner. That scene was so awkward for everyone! Even reading it felt weird, you know? I knew it! He still likes her! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 11: (view spoiler)[The ski resort is really nice! I want to go too! Those stunts were insane and pretty reckless. I don't know how I feel about Adrian. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 17: (view spoiler)[I like Lissa's idea about including Moroi defense classes in the academies. The character development Rose has gone through during this book is amazing and I know she still has more to go through as she keeps finding things about herself. I hope her latest realization about her mother will bring them closer together. I want to know more about Adrien and the secrets he seems to be keeping. (hide spoiler)]

So I have been reading I just forgot to post, I think I am only on chapter 8 though, was on vacation and didn't read a lot was way too busy. I will post tonight for sure though, as I am at work right now and can't post much more.

I think I would do way better if we had a schedule lol.

Both are really good. But Bloodlines series took a bit to get into. Like end of book 2/book 3 but then I was hooked!
