Lisa L-B | 14 comments The AST has crept into my daily activities. I apparently can't go shopping anymore without seeing things that were obviously inspired by these wonderful books :). For example, I found this awesome ouroboros bracelet. Anyone else seeing/hearing everyday things that look a little different now that you've read the books?

That's awesome!

I will admit to being unimpressed by the clothes that Diana wears in ADoW. As if she's tamping down her magic/personality by being drab. I love that the clothes in SoN are more lavish--even if she does prefer wearing Matthew's leggings.

Readsandeats | 54 comments I loved the clothes in SoN but have to admit I would find them rather restrictive. The decoration on them really appeals to me. I was fortunate enough to be an extra in a film once and had to wear clothing from the 1920's UK and even found them uncomfortable.
What puts me off the clothing of 1590's is all the layers - mind you with no central heating etc they would come in useful, especially as I am one of those people who gets cold easily.

How fun! I adore flapper-era clothes.

The layers would be lovely in the winter, but what did they do in the summer? I bet fainting was a daily hazard.

Readsandeats | 54 comments I think it would be.

I too love flapper era clothes but unfortunately for the film I was a fish gutter lady, so it was scratchy Harris tweed full length skirts, heavy tights, very uncomfortable boots, heavy blouse, shawl and scarf as the scene I was in was a wee free church of Scotland service!!!!! So not very glamorous lol.

Ha! Well, I imagine that's how most real people of the era really dressed.

Kristy | 9 comments I would love to dress in the clothing from SoN. I love layers upon layers, as I do get cold.

I am also wondering if anyone knows where I can get a copy of the commonplace book that was put out as a promotion. ( I'm in Alberta, Canada.).

Kristy, you can follow @penguinpbks on Twitter. They'll be offering it there--and at some of Deb's events--as a giveaway in the coming weeks.
