I will probably read more than one book with magic this year, but one I've already read that I'll count for this section of the challenge is "Cupcakes, trinkets, and other deadly magic" by Meghan Ciana Doidge. This is an ebook I got for free from BookBub; if you give them your email, they let you know about free and discounted ebooks (usually limited time offers). I thought this one was pretty interesting. It's also a mystery, and I didn't have everything figured out immediately. It was interesting enough that I'm considering purchasing the next book in the series to find out what happens next. Cupcakes, Trinkets, and Other Deadly Magic (The Dowser, #1) by Meghan Ciana Doidge

I don't read too many children's books these days, but a children's librarian friend recommended A Snicker of Magic by Natalie Lloyd and I loved it! The audiobook was really well done and I love this brand of magic where music makes your feet dance and ice cream helps you recall memories.

I read Neil Gaiman's Trigger Warning for this category, and it didn't disappoint. Gaiman was, in turns, creepy, funny, dark, and back to super creepy, as per usual. Some of the stories were better than others - I'm not a Doctor Who fan, so if anyone out there is, you can tell me if you thought the Doctor Who story was any good or not :)
