I've gone back and forth in my mind over Barney at the end. Do you think Hannibal saw him through those binoculars?
On one hand, I think if Hannibal saw him, I figure it'd be instant lights out and closed curtain for Barney. Even if he respected him in his own twisted way in the hospital, he wouldn't do personal favors of letting Barney go and risk his personal freedom.
On the other hand, if he saw him, he may have given him that one chance to see what he'd do - which Barney took as running immediately and leaving - but it still seems too risky since they were so cemented there in hiding.
So the most likely option is he didn't see him and Barney just got incredibly lucky. But...Barney said he was staring right at him and he quickly covered his face with the program. Kind of obvious, and Hannibal was observant, always on the alert and had a sharp memory.
I'm pretty sure that Hannibal saw him. What he did about it I'm not sure. He likely went looking for him and didn't find him, because he had taken off.
