Dwaine Schoner | 20 comments I can rarely afford to buy an NYRB edition new, but, more and more, find 'gently used' examples in thrift shops, etc. I also buy duplicates of those I already have, hoping to find other NYRB aficionados with duplicate or no-longer-wanted titles they want to swap. Are you out there?

Worth noting for collectors that the NYRB Classics edition of The Towers of Trebizond is out of print as FSG now has it back to do their FSG Classics.

Dwaine Schoner | 20 comments Thanks Trevor for the update. Has something similar happened with Cary's 'Herself Surprised' and 'Horse's Mouth; Stead's 'Letty Fox...' and Leys' 'Victor Segalen'? I don't see them listed in NYRB's 2014 catalog. Also, when should we expect the 2015 catalog to be available?

Yes, that's what happened to Herself Surprised and The Horses Mouth. I wasn't aware of it, but it also looks like that's what happened with Letty Fox. René Leys is still in print.

As for the new catalog (Fall 2015), you can see it here.

Dwaine Schoner | 20 comments Again, thanks, Trevor!

Lois (literanarchy) | 113 comments I think this sounds like a great idea! Unfortunately I'm all the way in Australia so it would be a bit more expensive than for everyone else, although probably still cheaper than buying new. I've got a copy of Alien Hearts by de Maupassant if anyone's interested? I loved it, so am happy to share the joy :)

Dwaine Schoner | 20 comments Lois: I started this discussion. The duplicates I have for swapping are listed in message 3. I don't have 'Alien Hearts' and might be interested. I'm going to check at my post office and see if our 'Media Rate', considerably less than regular postage, applies to books sent overseas. Hope we can do a swap.

Yes, we have a reduced rate for shipping books to the US, so hopefully the same goes over there. Would be interested in swapping for Speedboat if it all checks out :)

Dwaine Schoner | 20 comments 'Speedboat' it is. Just let me check with p.o.

message 12: by Dwaine (new)

Dwaine Schoner | 20 comments Lois: Your P.O.is much more civilized...sending 'Speedboat' would cost a dollar more than its original price. I'm gobsmacked as well as saddened cause I really wish we could have swapped NYRBs. Let me know when you're coming to NYC!All the best.

Lois (literanarchy) | 113 comments Oh, wow. That is a shame :( I guess we'll both have to find some people more local to swap with!

I have so much respect for generous people, Randolph.
