Renee M | 803 comments Oh My God! The POETRY! It's pretty thick in this section. I guess Radcliff is trying to show that Emily is sensitive and artistic.

Cindy I did not think the poetry added to the story. It was more of an interruption to me. Some editions take out the poetry. In some sections it was too thick.

Renee M | 803 comments There was definitely less of it in Volume One. Here it seems like Emily is rhapsodizing every other page.

Renee M | 803 comments Just finished Chapter 6. Things have certainly gotten exciting. Her stepdad looks like more and more of a rat as the story progresses.

Cindy I knew Montoni was an evil rat. The people that hung around him gave me the shivers. I never figured out the sudden marriage.
