Larry one of my 10 best books reduced to a bore. granted, the 'audio cast' could not bring the complexities to stage. as a play-it was ruined. mr. asner is a very skilled actor-i recall him more warmly in prior performances. regret.

Feliks I share your regret from probably a hundred or a thousand miles away from wherever you are. Its painful, it makes me wince--to even conceive of anyone (anyone who isn't vision-impaired) opting for some audio version of a great book like this!! Ouch! Ouff!

What can you possibly have been doing in your life that was so necessary and important that you couldn't simply crack open the spine of an actual, authentic paperback version of this superb novel...and turn your eyes toward it? 'Audio' is just not the same. Its fit for cookbooks or self-help books perhaps, but not a novel.

Kirk I generally agree with Feliks' comments, but not here. For me audio books have their place; the experience is different, and apparently the brain processes the words differently.

So an indifferent reading can certainly be cause for an indifferent review/comment.
