When posting your book, you can either do it within the "welcome" topic in your genre, or you can do it as a separate post that includes your book name (again, putting it in the appropriate genre). Either way works, but make sure you only post your book once within that category. (Multiple categories are okay as long as they apply to your work.) Posting in the wrong genre(s) may result in being banned from the group.

For general posts (such as info on book releases, interviews, blog updates, etc.), put these in the Bulletin Board section. Do not post them in the "General" folder--a folder that should not be used at all except by the moderator (this appears when you do not select a folder when posting a new topic).

If you want to delete a topic you've created, you will need to email the moderator (Vincent) on Goodreads. Simply posting about needing a topic deleted within the thread may not result in its actual removal.

Legal disclaimer:

"Also, please note that this is an open forum and the moderators are not responsible or liable for posted titles and/or ideas, or the risk that said titles and/or ideas could be borrowed or stolen. It's a pain to mention this, but disputes sometimes arise.

Hi Kamee--glad you joined!

Sure, you can post short stories. There are two places you can post:

1) A folder titled Short Stories, where you can list the work you have available.
2) A folder titled Reading Lounge, where you can post the actual short stories for readers to see. (I've posted a short story there as an example.)

We look forward to seeing your posts!

Tales of the Red Moon Clan by Chérie De Sues

Hello, I'm Chérie De Sues, a Romance Author of both Suspense and Paranormal novels in various heat levels. Tales of the Red Moon Clan is a Paranormal Romance. Find me at: http://www.cheriedesues2.com

Blurb:

Neol Pallaton walks alone through the bowels of society as a bounty hunter, until he shifts into a cougar to save Assistant D.A. Sara Hughes from certain death. A relentless killer keeps them moving by day through the Oregon forest—and by night under the full moon, passion rules their hearts.

The rugged forest is no place for a beautiful and feisty city woman, but Neol’s determined to help Sara piece together why she's being hunted. Sara thought bounty hunters were brutal loners who stretched the law she’s sworn to uphold. But Neol proves that no one can hunt, track and protect her like a Navajo medicine man from the Red Moon Clan.

Neol is willing to anger the spirits to protect his one true mate. Sara will have to bend the law to keep Neol and her alive—and together forever.

REVIEW by You Gotta Read Reviewers 5/5 "You Gotta Read"
Jennifer said...'Ms. De Sues can weave a story. I was pulled into Neol and Sara's run for their lives. There were so many twists and turns that I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen. On top of all of the suspense Neol and Sara fall in love on the run. The sex is hot and the love is instant. With all of that, Ms. De Sues throws in some shape shifting abilities too. I loved this book!" BUY LINK

Brandi said...Do you ever start reading a book and keep saying to yourself, wow, "I love this book", I kept thinking I just couldn't wait to find out what happened next? When I was asked to read Tales of the Red Moon Clan by author Cherie De Sues I jumped at the chance since I can't get enough of those sexy shifters and reading the blurb I was more than enticed. I thought the above a lot (oh, I just love this book), & there was frankly so much action and it was so well written that I was captured from the moment I started. BUY LINK

REVIEW by Two Lips Reviewers 4 1/2 Lips
Merrylee said..."Set in Western Oregon, Southern California, Nevada and Arizona, Tales of the Red Moon Clan is a suspenseful paranormal romance that takes you on a thrilling, fast-moving ride that just gets better and better with each turn of the page...

I enjoyed all the supporting characters as well. By introducing Neol’s Navajo cousins Tse, Shadi and Nascha, it’s obvious that Ms. De Sues has hopes of turning this book into a series. Personally, I so lost myself in Neol's world of Navajo shapeshifters that I eagerly await sequels in this very promising paranormal series.

Caroline Leavitt (carolineleavitt) | 20 comments this feels so self promotional, but here goes. My novel (I was recently listed by library Journal as "an author to stalk at Book Expo America) is now up on Amazon. I have blurbs from Pulitzer prize winner Robert Butler Olen, Dan Chaon, Kate Christensen, and more. It's a novel about how we can--or can't--forgive the unforgivable and it swirls around a mysterious car crash on a foggy road.

Don't worry about self promotion, Caroline. I created this group for the purpose of getting the word out about new novels.

It matters not that it comes from the author or an independent reader.

All postings are welcome here. (Call it the no judgment zone.)

Authors tell us about what they've written and a bit about themselves if they wish and we get the fun part of discovering 'new' tomes and authors out there we may not have heard of otherwise. So, it's mutually advantageous! Your book, "Pictures of You" sounds really good from the info I read...something I would like to read and lots of other GR readers/authors out there, too, I'll bet. So, be "self promotional" for our sakes...please...:>

Glad to make your acquaintance!

Can I toot my horn? I am so-o-o green at being an author. I get some free PR tips in my e-mail. I clicked on Redbook magiazine through that link in my e-mail. I joined some discussions. A person from the Redbook staff e-mailed me back saying she wanted to use my quote in the magazine. Okay. I know this is a very tiny step toward credibility as an author, but, I certainly is a foot in the door.

Hi Donna,

The best way to let readers know is to post about your book in the specific genres that apply for your work. Let them know that it's now a paperback and give them the link where they can find it.

You can also use these two threads: open author interviews and post your websites. (You can even use the bulletin board folder.)

Dear Ednah, O_O_O_H_H_ My! Your cover is hot!
I would love to know about your research on fallen angels. Can we connect? My co-author, Grace Rose and I are into angels, big time! She wants to promote The Secrets of the Unwritten Book...as an angel book, But I did a search on amazon and got 10's of thousands or more titles re; some kind of angel book. I feel we will get lost in a haystack. You do YA, ours is adult. So I was wondering, do you promote just as YA? The younger readers do seem to like the Fallen angel aspect. Can you tell me why? So how else do you promote you books?
I would buy your book just by wanting to feel the cover. If you'd like to check out our new cover, we have it on our website. so far only the first page is working, but you can see the cover and learn about my co-author a bit. That might tell you why I asked you the questions I did. http://www.GraceRoseAngelSpeak.com

Barbara Briggs | 1 comments The Reindeer Keeper by Barbara Briggs Ward After reviewing my book, Anne L. Holmes, Director of the National Association of Baby Boomer Women stated, "The Reindeer Keeper is a Hallmark movie in the waiting."
When I sat down to write "The Reindeer Keeper" the only thing I knew was that my grandfather's old barn would play a major role in the story. And I can tell you now-it did!

The Reindeer Keeper is a heartwarming Christmas story geared to adults; to anyone who remembers that feeling of truly believing in Santa Claus. It tells the story of Abbey and Steve-together since the '60s; marrying when Steve returned from Vietnam. Now, thirty years later, Abbey has been given the gift of an old farmhouse, 120 acres of fields and pastures and an old barn-complete with an odd little man tending to a herd of reindeer. Turns out this Christmas is more magical than anticipated as Abbey and Steve confront their greatest challenge.
I invite you to go to: www.thereindeerkeeper.com. Read more about me and the book and follow my blog.
Available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, "The Reindeer Keeper" is beautifully illustrated by award-winning graphic artist Suzanne Langelier-Lebeda.

Greetings from a snowbound England, Nanette!

I am really sad that you have received such an abominable review. People who do such things are truly sick because they rarely give their real name but hide behind some false identity, which proves they are cowards and it usually means they know they have lied.

As you say, we all can receive bad reviews. My Manager doesn’t think reviewing is particularly constructive because he says one bad review can be so destructive. Even a professional Reviewer can be found wanting when he has had a row with his partner and so releases his innermost tensions on some hapless author’s worthy work, sometimes without even reading a word of the book.

The horrible part is when, not the writing is attacked but the writer, then, unfortunately it becomes libellous. No review should ever attack the writer. Amazon are very strict on such matters and will not tolerate any danger to their reputation (or bank balance)! So, Nanette they are entirely with you on this one. (One of my dearest literary friends is a Best Selling Author and he has had reviews where the reviewer said he should have his hands cut off so that he cannot write another word….nasty people, eh)?

All I can say is, go on Amazon and under your review it says something like…. ‘report this’.... click on it and instructions will come up.

Here is the one from Amazon.co.uk for us Brits, so I know there will be one for you in The States.

Notice and Procedure for Notifying Amazon.co.uk of Defamatory Content
If you believe that any content on, or advertised for sale on, the website contains a defamatory statement, please notify us immediately by copying the Notice to Amazon.co.uk of Defamatory Content below into your word processor program, complete it in accordance with the instructions set out in the Notice and send a printed signed copy to: Defamation Notices, Amazon.co.uk Legal Department, Patriot Court, 1-9 The Grove, Slough, Berks, England SL1 1QP. Agree with you 100%. I never could figure out why there should be rivalry. Have "they" been to a library? There are zillions of books in any number of genres to appeal to the masses. What happens when a reader finishes a book? Maybe on occasion they start it all over again to reread, but more often they choose a new book to read. There are plenty of books by plenty of authors. We need to promote reading in general in this world of TV, video games and movies. Hooray Susan.

Tristi | 12 comments I couldn't agree more - readers want all the books they can get their hands on, and we as authors can work together to help get those books out there. It's not like buying a car, where you'll have one for years - an avid reader can go through seven books in a week, so why not help assure that they are finding the books they want to read? And a reader doesn't have to choose just one favorite author. They can have hundreds of favorite authors. I think it really serves us well to work together and promote each other and be there for each other as authors.
