Clamp discussion

I've added some Clamp book releases for some of our events. From what I understand, the release dates are correct. If not, please let me know (like if you've already seen the book on sale in stores).

Anyway- what other events would you guys like to see? We can write fan-fiction, pick a book (clamp or not) to read and discuss over the month, etc. I think a book or series of the month would be fun. Plus, we can add another book discussion topic.

no problem! it makes it seem like they're not so far off.

for book/series of the month, we can pick a series and read it "together." more like discuss it throughout the month. i can put up a poll for what we want to read for the next month, and put up a discussion for our book of the month. i guess you can tell i'm pretty excited about it.

yeah, it can be whatever book/series we pick to read that month. since our group doesn't limit discussion to just clamp, i don't see how it wouldn't go against the spirit of the group to read other things too.

i have added a poll. it'll be up from dec. 2 - 31, and we won't know the results until the end. yay! i put two clamp series and two non-clamp series: wish, hana kimi, honey and clover, and angelic layer. i stuck to ones you can find online to read, just in case someone can't get it at the library. i should probably create an event folder so those discussions can be separate. maybe, we'll see. let me know what you think about the folder idea, and if you like how i've set up the poll. i also tried to pick books people were excited about in out conversations.

yeah. i think that for the next poll, i'll only have it go through the 20th, and keep it at that for every month. that way i have time to set up the forum, and people can get a head start on reading, or finding how they want to read it.

oh, totally forgot to mention for anyone wanting to vote in the new poll, just click on "more polls" and it's the second one. i think next time i'll just make it the featured poll. maybe...

as far as i can tell, we are the only ones who have voted, so it might just be honey and clover. lol!

honey and clover won the jan. group read. i know 8 vol. are curently available, but it's only through 5, so if we can keep the discussion somewhat around there, it'll be nice. that way there aren't too many spoilers for those who are new to the series.

i added a new poll. it'll run 1/6 - 1/25. that way i have time to set it up, and people will have a chance to read it, or even find it before february is all gone. i tried to pick love themed manga, since valentine's day is in feb. there is also an "other" opition. a nice new addition if i do say so myself. that way if what i picked is lame, you can voice your own opinion with what we should read. tsubasa and holic can also be picked for feb. both extremely popular clamp titles. i'm really looking forward to the results! please vote everyone!

oh, question for everyone's opinion, should i add honey and clover to our bookshelf? i mean, it's not a clamp series so i feel more than slightly awkward doing it. but, we as a group are also reading it. so, with the logic that we are reading the series (or part of it), shouldn't it be added? but then, what books should and shouldn't be added? i wanted to hear people's thoughts on this.
there is a cool "currently reading" and "to-read/ upcoming books" sections that looked fun to play with

yeah. but it's tough since you can't actually invite people who aren't your friends. we could message people who have added clamp books to join the guild. person to get the most can pick the next book of the month, or something.

yes, i agree. it's also tough to find people interested who also come on goodreads on a regular basis. but i think as the group gets bigger, there will be more activity. yeppers

since march's poll ended in a tie, i decided to go with clover for a couple of reasons:
it's a clamp book, and we're a clamp group
clovers are st. patrick themed

yay! so it'll be vol. 1-4 or the big version.

from now on i'll make the volume section be like 2 or 3 volumes. it'll make it easier to fit it into our busy schedules. anyway, i'll get on to setting up the next poll and what-not.

in two weeks i'll be done with school, and hopefully more active. so tired of reading though, video games are calling...

anyway- i have added a new poll. i raided eden's bookshelf and put some of them on our poll.

may's books of the month are wish vol. 3 & 4. since it was a tie, i figured we should wrap up the series. maybe that's what we'll do for july, pick only from books we started to read but didn't finish. lol.

card captures vol 1-3 is the series we are reading this month. no one voted, so i think i will wait a bit before putting up another book of the month post/poll/event. if you have any ideas for events and such, post them or send me a message and i'll set it up!

which ones? card captures sakura? probably. i've only read the second book. lol

no biggie. i feel like i've been doing to the same. i think it's tough since we are the only ones that talk. haha

Hey, if you want, you can invite group members to answer the poll. I would actually find it helpful if you would, at least, invite me to take the poll. I'm not one to go look at polls normally, so I'm not usually aware when you post one.

hmmm. that is most certainly a thought. i try to mention it when i invite everyone to the book reading event. i will have to look into it.

oh, the card capture reading was for june, so you can read it whenever you want. i decided to take a break from setting up the polls for a little while. maybe i'll try it again soon.

i haven't added anything new in a while. maybe i should, lol.

it's a pretty cute series, i think you would like it. my library has some fairly old stuff, so you never know. i'm not sure if it's still in print.

clamp doesn't seem to ever write a happy series. ever! you can even tell when they think they wrote a happy one. it'll end with whoever alive, or as a couple, but a chapter or two before the end something unbelievably tragic will happen and you can't even fully enjoy the happy ending
