I'm excited to do this! I've got so many books on my to-read list so I'll get on organizing what I'm gonna read and when.

When you start reading Outlander - Diana Gabaldon could you message me and we could read it "together"? I have been meaning to get to it, but it seems so daunting to me, and I think I might have a better time of it, if it were to be a "buddy read" of sorts...

I also have Outlander on my list to read! Let me know when you start reading it. We can all read it together and maybe start a new thread for Outlander to discuss.

Ms. Erin, Toni & Jennifer: I just picked up The Hunger Games and I'm LOVING it, so I'm thinking I'll read that and Catching Fire this week (not working - yay!) and then start Outlander next week sometime (Jan. 3-9), does that work for y'all?

Okay, I'm starting Outlander tomorrow guys :) Got a bit distracted with another book.

I've got 10 down so far, 134 to go! Will add more to-reads this week.

I am about 260 pages into Outlander so far. I am enjoying it. :)

Everytime I read one of the Outlander series book it takes me forever because it's not my main book. I enjoy them but can't take much of them at a time. Outlander took me 3 times of starting and putting it aside. I think in the end I read the book and did the audio at the same time. Voyager was the last one I did and that took me over a year to get though and I still haven't picked up the next one in the series even though I have a old used copy which I bought at the same time I did Voyager and it drove me crazy reading it because it was so dusty smelling. I think I'll end up buying a new trade size copy when I'm reading to read the next one. It sure would probably go alot faster. I think with Voyager I was even going to B&N and spending some time just sitting there and reading one of the new copies. I think with the space I put between reading each one it takes me awhile to get used to the language and into the book again. Hope you enjoy it. I know someone who is probably on her 2nd or 3rd time of reading the series and I don't know how she does it. She enjoys it so much.

I read about 400 pages yesterday. I am really enjoying it. I hope to finish it today. I went to the library's used book sale this morning so I am adding all those books to my list first. I love the book sale :)

You are good. I'm sure you will have no problem zipping though them.

So I'm also about 400 pages in (I was out all day Saturday and couldn't read - it was torturous) and I'm enjoying it too. I'd heard the first one was difficult to get into but I'm really liking it thus far.

I can't remember if that was one of the shorter ones too. I even went out and bought the companion when it came out. I used to go back to that since I forgot stuff between books since it was a long time. Now the last time I didn't even do that. I guess I didn't get as much use out of the companion that I had to have at the time it came out. But you might enjoy having it even if you see if you library has it. It does have different things in it besides stuff about each book (I don't remember which ones where written about before it came out but I can check and let you know the next time I'm online. Glad you are enjoying it. I think the voyager and maybe the one before it was at least two of the bigger books of her's. I'm holding off buying any of her later books until I finish the ones I have. Which I think might be the one after Voyager and maybe the one after that. And as I mention I might end up buying new books anyway since the ubs copies have always smelled dusty. And the print is so small. The few times i read the store trade size copy it was so much easier and better. And my library has worst copies because I even checked them last time.

I now only have like 80 pages left and can't find the time to finish it. Its driving me nuts. because I am really enjoying it. My copy of Outlander is 850 pages so I hope this isn't one of the shorter ones....

Some are longer but I think they are mostly around that number. I thought the last one I read was more. Can't remember will have to check the book journal.

I noticed that you just finished The Angel Experiment Series by James Patterson - I absolutely loved it and thought it was very humorous. He has another new series he just started and its called "Witch & Wizard" and I look forward to reading it too - I have it on my wish list - LOL

So I finally finished Outlander on the weekend - holy amazingness batman and I'm quickly shooting through Shoe Addicts Anonymous (I need a decompression read) before I start on Dragonfly in Amber. I'm so stoked to see where this story goes.

Heh, I just picked this (Outlander) up at lunch. I'm debating whether to finish HP off first or start reading Outlander on my way home.

Definitely finish HP first, Outlander is a heavy, heavy read. It's super slow going, I had to drop all other books I had going to finish it :)

You are good reading the Outlander series books so close together. It take me at least a year and going by the last one I read I think it took me 2 years. But it wasn't my main book at anytime except maybe with when I read Outlander. Then I usually put a year if not more between them. this is the first year I didn't put one on my Determination pile to read this year. And it doesn't help that the copies I bought are from a ubs that they smell dusty. I'm thinking when I'm reading for the next one I might get the trade size copy new. I know it would be easier reading then the pb copy

Good to know. I think I'll leave it until I'm done with Tess then. Replace one heavy book with another.

I loved Outlander and am now going through Dragonfly in Amber on Audio. For once I hope I get stuck in traffic. In one week I have gone through 10 disks already. Beware - its 33 disks though so I have a long way to go. I am too curious as to how the story is going to continue to wait between reads, although so far I am not like Dragonfly as much - more so for the topic than the writing, the writing is still outstanding and I am still completely entranced with the story.

I am just the opposite with the Outlander books. I am hoping one day to have time to read them all, back to back!I just can get lost in their world..I love books like that. They are long, but for me it does save a little time because I don't have to think at the beginning of each book, when it's been a 2 year gap, "now what's going on???" :)

I bought the companion to the series long ago when it came out I used to use that for reviewing the book before but the last time I didn't even do that. At some point I'll probably just get rid of that book. Had it have it at the time.
