S.R.R. Colvin (srrcolvin) | 24 comments I go to southern Africa every year and I've noticed some fabulous names in Namibia and South Africa that I'd love to use in a story. Some are from the many indiginous languages while others reflect a European influence.

Use Google Earth or Google Maps with the city names feature turned on, and check out some of the town and village names in southern Africa. Some will never work as a last name, others are perfect, and still others just need a letter or two altered to sound right.

Esther (essie7198) wow... Namibia is a perfect name for him!!! Thanks!

Maria [the clockwork creeps on useless lives] (mariachhile) | 95 comments p.s Esther: Namibia is an African country, if you didn't know! But don't stop that from that being his name!

Esther (essie7198) i read the thingy... i don;t think that names would be in a name... ;P and no that's nto going to stop me... hmmmmm i think it'll be Christians... Christines wouldn't be a special name... it's starting to be more about Christian than Christine. And yes, it is confusing that the two main characters names are only two letters different...

Maria [the clockwork creeps on useless lives] (mariachhile) | 95 comments haha sorrry I didn't read her second part.

S.R.R. Colvin (srrcolvin) | 24 comments Christian is a perfect last name. No matter how bad your character behaves, he can still claim to be a "Christian," if only in name.

message 17: by Esther (new)

Esther (essie7198) oh no that's his first name... i know this guy from my old church named Christian... there was this joke taht was like, 'Oh yea, Christain has to be a Christian, it's his name.'

Maria [the clockwork creeps on useless lives] (mariachhile) | 95 comments *shudders* sorry, I've had some ad experiences with that name, but go on!
