Allen (Booksandboxinggloves) | 4 comments Do women and men feel different charms about werewolves? For me, the charm of werewolves is like a symbol of unknownly mascular power. This power is out of control and unreasonable. It's simply wild and natural. How do you think about it?

Allen (Booksandboxinggloves) | 4 comments Comparing the charm of werewolves with the charm of vampires may help explaining the specific charm of werewolves.

Perhaps more women may be attracted by vampires. The beauty of decadency, nobility, and the paradoxical calmness of vampires seem to be the main attraction for women.

If I have to compare vampires and werewolves to animals, I may say that vampires are like cats and werewolves are like dogs.

Well, how do you think about that?

Patrick (horrorshow) | 11 comments I tend to like the concept that everyone has a dark side to themselves and the werewolf stories allowed the characters to express the dark sides of themselves and often, when I work on my stories, I tend to like to use the term wolf in sheep clothings, or wolf in executive suit, or wolf in advertising suit, or wolf in chaps...it allow the characters to do bad things in freedom from blame and restraints.

Allen (Booksandboxinggloves) | 4 comments Hey Patrick! That the characters do bad things in freedom from blame and restraints is cool. Is it possible that werewolves could be a symbol of nature and werewolves in fact are trying to wake up humans' hidden nature? I'd like to think that werewolves could be the symbol to fight against the hypocritical civilization.

Leah (ling_ling) I've always held a special place in my heart for werewolves.. I do agree that some women may be more attracted to the idea of a vampire but I believe the dual reality that is a werewolf/shapeshifter is more appealing to me.. there is this sense of freedom and escapism with the werewolf..the vampire is always a vampire while the werewolf is more dynamic having to live in two worlds..

Rindis | 4 comments For me, werewolves are more of a back-to-nature/noble-savage thing. And the entire 'get be something else' bit is a big plus.

Of course, my mental model of what werewolves are like comes from Anthony Boucher's Complete Werewolf, which doesn't have the unrestrained power side common to most depictions.

Vampires are either evil undead bloodsuckers, or emo. Perhaps both.
