Lynnette Bonner (lynnettebonner) | 23 comments Hi, I'm new to Goodreads and this group. I'm looking forward to meeting lots of like-minded readers here. :)

I love to read! I'm also an author. My first book Rocky Mountain Oasis released this past summer from OakTara Publishing.

Some of my favorite authors are: Bodie Thoene, Francine Rivers, Linda Windsor, Jeanette Windle, & Linda Chaikin. (I'll stop there - the list could go on and on! lol)

Anyhow, I'd love to "meet" you and chat a little.

Who are your favorite Christian authors?

Lynnette Bonner (lynnettebonner) | 23 comments Hi Jenny,

Nice to see you here. I really like M. L. Tyndall too. I was sad to hear that she won't be doing any more pirate books in the near future.

message 4: by Ausjenny (new)

Ausjenny | 76 comments Oh I hadn't heard that. I love her pirate books and the ones set in that era. (Im a huge hornblower fan)

I agree with your comment "the hardest part of reading is deciding which book to read next". Since I joined paperbackswap a couple of years ago..I have a very large to be read list! lol

message 9: by Lynnette (new)

Lynnette Bonner (lynnettebonner) | 23 comments Hi Joy, nice to meet you. :)

I agree. I have so many that I want to read, that deciding where to start is the challange. I'm usually in the middle of reading 2 or 3 books. :)

I do that with my writing too. I work on one story for awhile, then I move to another one until I get another bit of inspiration about the first story. :)

message 10: by Terri (new)

Terri (terrie) Hello everyone, There is too many list of my favorite authors.. I would say is Colleen Coble, Dee Henderson, Terri Blackstock and Traci Petterson

I made a group for her on here since there wasn't one! I actually just got her Shades of Blue for my birthday. I'm excited to read it.

Lynnette Bonner (lynnettebonner) | 23 comments I just finished Between Sundays a couple weeks ago. Very good book. I don't think I've read any of her books that weren't good. She is a VERY talented writer.

I'll look forward to hearing what you have to say about Shades of Blue - I haven't read that one yet.

message 13: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (texasaggieteacher) | 101 comments I got that one for Christmas last year. I haven't read one of hers I didn't like! She and Francine Rivers are my absolute favs.

message 14: by Lynnette (new)

Lynnette Bonner (lynnettebonner) | 23 comments I'm just finishing up a book by K.M. Weiland called Behold the Dawn. It is very good. I'm not quite done with it, but I will get a review up in a couple days.

Yes, Francine Rivers! I can't wait for her next book to come out. I think it is called Roaring Waters or Raging Waters or something similar to that. But I don't know when it is slated to be available. I'm sure it will be good.

message 29: by Mary (new)

Mary (marigold10) | 3 comments Hi all,
I just joined and am so excited to find a group dedicated to Christian romance! Like Melissa I've also read most of Jeanette Oke's books, as well as Grace Livingston Hill from a long time ago. I also love Nicholas Sparks romance novels. Recently a friend shared her copy of Moon Dance, and I discovered a new favorite author in Susan K. Earl. The book had all the elements I enjoy, and the characters are endearing. It was such an easy read that I just couldn't put down. I hope I can find more great recommendations like this from you guys!

What other kinds of books do you enjoy? Sounds like we have some books in common. =)

Lona (cubalover) | 40 comments Lauraine Snelling also has the greatest series starting at Red River of the North series and ends with Home to Blessing series...Tracie Peterson and Tamera Alexander are only a few I enjoy!

I love those series!

message 40: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (melanieborthwick) An author that I would read over and over and over again would be MaryLu Tyndall. She writes really well written historical Christian romance novels. Some are about pirates, and others about the colonies, and they all are accurate. They are real too! You don't have to be worried about the characters being too fluffy or anything.

Paula Hrbacek (phrbacek) | 6 comments If any of you are in Northwest Florida, I have a question for you. I am writing book reviews for The Examiner, an online newspaper. It doesn't pay a whole lot, but I enjoy it. If I can find a local angle, I get $1 bonus on my pay check. they want all of the stories to be local in some way. My area is from Pensacola to Panama City.

It's hard to make a book review local, and my editor suggested that I tell the reader where to buy the books in the area. I'd like to give the smaller bookstores a chance at getting some new customers. So where do you buy Love Inspired, Silhoutte, and other Christian books? I'm not shopping for books. My mother lives out in the country, and belongs to a mail order club. she gives me the books when she's done with them.
