Today I started packing to move (just across town, and to a bigger house Yay!)... so please excuse me while I enter a phase of complete chaos and insanity. I will probably be unable to follow threads for about the next week. I would like to nominate RandomAnthony as co-moderator (Donald bowed out with his new baby having arrived in the world). All in favor pipe up!

Here, here!
Or, do I mean hear, hear? Damn these homonyms!

message 3: by Gåry! (new)

Gåry! (garyneill) Aye.

message 4: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) I'm pretty sure that in this case, it is "hear, hear!"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hear_hear

And I think Anthony'd be fantabulous.

RA Bond in a dangerous suit. I'm game.

Theresa (tsorrels) Sounds great!

message 7: by RandomAnthony (last edited Apr 16, 2008 03:32PM) (new)

RandomAnthony Wow, I go away for an afternoon and this happens. Thanks for the faith in me. I will try to live up to your trust. Er...in other words, I'll try not to screw up really badly. I don't expect to have to moderate anything...except maybe myself. Everybody here seems pretty cool.

And Donald, twice the man? Just because I haven't worked out in a couple days...and I keep eating those pop tarts without even bothering to cook them...

Thanks again.

Koe... that is indeed the mantra of the day. Also, I keep muttering from room to room, "I have too much fucking stuff."

Donald... nobody could ever replace you! Let alone two of you. : )

RA... welcome to the Monkey House, man. Watch for flying guano.

message 9: by Hayley (new)

Hayley | 576 comments yeah to RA as co-moderator!!!

message 10: by J (new)

J Excellent choice. Good luck with the chaos, Charissa. I second Donna's advice.

Actually it's never been the UN packing that bothers me. It's the packing. Everytime I move I wish for the power of Jeannie. I could just bounce my pony tail and blink my eyes and all my stuff would be magicked to the new house. BOING!

oh I wish

Yes, it is tempting to head out to some remote and warm beach right now. So. Very. Tired. So Far From Being Done!!!!

I think having Randomanthony as a moderator is a really great idea. If you're into really bad ideas. Dude is a total group slut. He has every orifice filled with some group or other. He's just spreading himself too thin, burning the candles at both ends, and many other popular cliches I can't think of right now. All I have to say to you, RA, is that this whole moderator power trip better not decrease your posting output at Mini Amsterdam, where you really belong. (By the way, what the hell does a moderator do anyway? I mean, it's good for your resume and all, but...)

RandomAnthony

I had to ask Charissa what a moderator does. I am totally sucky moderator trainee.

And I don't think I'm very good at being mean to David. I just want to pinch his cute little goth cheeks.

Love,

RA

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Damn. I keep joining this group to say something and then unjoining it.

I read your comment earlier and it said something else, Mr. Big Shot Moderator. Lucky for you I don't remember if I should be offended by what it originally said. So have you moderated anything yet?

message 15: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Everything in moderation.

message 16: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony I count on Sarah to keep everybody in line. I'm a big delegater.

I'm more or less certain that there are embarrassing photographs in every box. I can't let that drive me or I'd never get up in the morning. I can't leave things packed. I have a peculiar compulsion to NEST, which requires arranging my STUFF in pretty patterns all over the house. It's a curse, and I blame the women in my family, who are all compulsive nesters. Someday I'm going to live in a house with nothing in it. I'm going to sleep in a corner huddled under a ratty old blanket. Of course, this will require getting rid of my grandmother's antiques, for which I will burn in hell for all eternity. But that might be better than moving again.

message 19: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony Damn. And I forgot to bribe the movers to steal some of those photographs...

Your house is going to be perfect, Char. You seem like you're good at that decorator thing. And I sleep on the floor all the time...it's actually kind of comfortable.

This is so exciting! I just heard that Randomanthony has been nominated for moderator! If Pat Buchanan isn't available, I say seal the deal.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm really concerned the Randomanthony-has-been-nominated-for-moderator hype is dying out. Don't let the dream die. I know there aren't enough delegates available for him to secure the position, but I think it's so cute and plucky how he took Kentucky. (As if Kentucky matters! Ha!)

message 22: by Paul (new)

Paul Bryant It is still mathematically possible for Random Anthony to win in June and become sole moderator.

message 23: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony Yes, and I will not leave the race until I have damaged the party in the election beyond repair!

And people wonder why I'm becoming more Republican all the time. Except I hate the oil companies with a passion. Hm.

message 24: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) I cry when you speak of this newfound conservatism. I love you RA. Come back to where the love is...

message 25: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Amanda, don't you love me?

Sarah... haven't you heard? All liberals have a chip installed at birth which prevents them from experiencing the feeling of love for conservatives. It's a protective measure.

I think mine malfunctioned. ; )

message 27: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Oh well, their loss.

message 28: by Sarah (last edited May 22, 2008 05:59PM) (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Well, I am pretty fabulous. What's not to love? Modest, too.

message 29: by Paul (new)

Paul Bryant What's not to love might be the little cross you place next the the name McCain in November. A little cross that would make me a little cross.

message 30: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Paul, you don't even live here! Although, yes, I know, the President of the United States has an effect on more than just his countrymen. But if my political views preclude you from liking me, well then, I don't think there's much of a loss. But I think that what I believe is right, else I wouldn't believe it.
