I just found the perfect quote for our Clean Romance Group! Of course, the fact that it's from a medieval poet in no way prejudiced me to choose it. ;-)

"Through their kisses and caresses they experienced a joy and wonder the equal of which has never been known or heard of. But I shall be silent...; for the rarest and most delectable pleasures are those which are hinted at, but never told." Chrétien de Troyes

Thanks, all, but don't thank me...thank Chrétien de Troyes, who's poetry may make an appearance in one of my future books, if I ever get it written! LOL!

Florence Witkop | 26 comments Just remembered reading an article about Colleen Macullah (sp?), author of The Thorn Birds and The Last Man In Rome and others so decided to share what she said. With a background in medical research and anatomy, she said that when she got around to writing sex scenes she knew that the most important sexual organ is the brain because, where sex is concerned, perception is what matters. All the rest is just plumbing.

Linda Mahkovec (lindamahkovec) | 13 comments A wonderful quote. This is what I love about earlier periods, such as Medieval or Victorian literature. The stories abound in romance, love, passion - but never explicity. Rther, it is located in the language, the landscape, the weather, in imagery - much more challenging, and, as this quote shows, much more beautiful.
