Dara S. (dara85) | 26 comments What is the best true crime book read in 2009?

Mine was Murder in Little Egyptby Darcy O'Brien

Another good one although not quite as good as the above one was Inside the Mind of BTK The True Story Behind the Thirty-Year Hunt for the Notorious Wichita Serial Killerby John E. Douglas

Mine was 'Mind Hunter' by John Douglas, however, if I finish 'Starvation Heights' that might take its place.

Jennifer (jennifer77) | 6 comments I thought the book Never Enough, by Joe Mcguiness was great! I could not put it down.

I will have to put that on my list. I liked his books Fatal vision and Blind Faith. Both were page turners.

Colleen (nightoleander) | 26 comments Bella, my father read Mind Hunter and loved it. I would have to say my best true crime of 2009 hands down was House of Evil: The Indiana Torture Slaying by John Dean. Incredible, includes court accounts and one of the worst "mob hysteria" type of torture and eventual murders I have ever read.

Hi Everyone
I'm new here, but I know I'm going to love this group

Dara, I love reading more about the BTK killer, also about Ted Bundy and the Green River Killer.

I'm currently Studying criminal psychology so all these crimes really interest me.

I also love reading the theories behind Jack the Ripper, and also the Black Dahlia.

Here in SA where I live we dont really have such notorious killers so its always interesting for me to read about the really "famous" ones.

Hehe yes, I just HAD to find a group who could relate to my passion for crime :)
Does that sound strange?

♥ Marlene♥ | 65 comments A bit late but I checked the books I'd read in 2009 and how many stars I gave them and the best I read that year was Pure Murder by Corey Mitchell which I gave 5 stars.

Yes I did (Looking at my stats) but i do not remember much about it. weirdly enough. I sent it to a US friend back in 2005 and even then I did not remember what it was about. Maybe I did not like it and not finish? so weird.
