I really did not think I would like Vampire Diaries. Stephan is just to nice to be a vampire. What saves the show is Damon his evil brother. Damon just steals the show from everyone else. He is a vampire who enjoys seducing,and rapping women and then just sucking them dry or puting them under his control. Damon is what vampires are all about. He is not a super hero. He is just out for self gratification. If only Stephan would listen to Damon and drink from Lorena and eventually turn her it would be just too sweet. Even though TrueBlood is the best TV show. Damon is way hotter than Eric for sure. He saves that show from being a catastrophe. Damon! What a vampire should be., LOL.

It's an okay show for teens. Even cute, but I have notice some of the changes of the show that wasn't in the book. The book itselft was okay as well. I do admit that the dude who plays Stefan is pretty hot. =)~

Personally I like Moonlight the short lived TV series with Mick St. John & Beth Turner(Sophia Miles)veteran vampire player from Underworld. I also liked the other characters like Joseph the oldest vampire in L.A. Great show which was killed by the Hollywood writers strike. Some people can never get enough. I would be satisfied with having a job as cool as that. As long as the wage was survivable. All the vampire Romance series are YA except Sookie Stackhouse. Vamp Diaries is not that great. But this winter it's all there is. Cant wait for summer and the return of TrueBlood. The best vampire show to ever hit TV. Buffy I miss a whole lot too. I loved every season except the one with Riley the paramilitary gov agent were just great. But it went out with a satisfying bang. Angels last season rocked to because they pulled in some of the cast from Buffy like Harmony, Spike, Lilah. Both Angels and Buffys last season where perhaps their best. They are so overuning the film industry with Vampire films right now they are going to burn out their popularity. Because they are making lots of not all that great films. When they should be making just a few really good ones. I would love to see Carmilla made into a real first class movie rather like Bram Stokers Dracula by Spielburg. Something more classic & Victorian in time frame. A movie version of Varney the Vampire would rock,LOL. I love vampire stories and films. They should however make fewer more better done movies. Rather than degraging them to the level of blood fest slasher horror films. :) V

I have to say I enjoy the Vampire Diaries more as a TV show than I do the books....I'm not a huge fan of self loathing vampires aka Edward and Stefan Salvatore and Bill Compton....I was scared the show was going to revolve around Stefan and Elena so I'm happy how they've twisted the story.
True Blood is my poison, it's the only show I actually look forward to.

I do not find Bill Compton self loathing. He just wants to get along with people, and stick to true blood. Have you read the books. I see self loathing knowhere in Bill Comptons thoughts. He is smart, computer literate, and desingned his own computer program. Unlike Erik how is just a skirt chasing Nightclub owner. Bill is a thinking man ur vampire.

Yes, I have read them all twice, he hates being a vampire, to me that is self loathing. He hates who he is and who he became. This is my opinion you can disagree, but if you hate yourself, then you're pretty much self loathing.

Show me a line in the book where Bill shows any sign of self loathing. The only Vampire in Sookie Stackhouse with self loathing was Godric. I think you are bending the story to meet your own desires. If Bill was so full of self loathing why did he take the precaution to sleep in the cemetary instead of with his vampire friends who were burnt to death? Bill may regret some things he's done. But self loathing is rediculous. I bet you are an Erik fan. Am I right? LOL

It's Eric, and I love all the characters, not loving one more than another....Dang, didn't mean to ruffle your feathers...haha. I can tell you're a Bill lover, they are very passionate about him, I've seen some knock down drag out fights on message boards between Bill/Eric lovers....I'm not in to that so sorry I won't be giving in to that.
This is about Vampire Diaries anyway and we agree on one thing, Damon rocks....He is what a vampire should be.

Yeah I just love Damon, and I don't like to argue. I don't play favorites in Sookie/Trueblood. If I did Lafayette would be my man, and Sarah Newlin my favorite girl. I know exactly how nasty people can get arguing over who is the best in the war between Erik and Bill. When people started identifying themselves as team Erik it was just to much for me. I just don't care. Dracula,and Carmilla are my vampire faves. I don't like series books. Sookie being the sole exception. So everyone interprets things in their own way. Which is cool. It's all about enjoying the books. :)

I love Lestat too, he's a favorite of mine as well. I think his character is fascinating....But with you, Dracula was my first vampire obsession, I haven't read about Carmilla, but I will check her out. I love reading about vampires and the different characteristics each author puts in to their stories....

To me Carmilla is the best Vampire story ever written. It is a long short story by Sheridan Le Fanu. Written 20 years before Dracula. Just type in Carmilla online. The full text is listed on a couple vampire sites. Some people interpret it as a lesbian vampire story. I see Carmilla as bisexual. But it has all the occult magic, and setting that I love in old Gothic vampire tales. Plus Carmilla can come out during the day. Sunlight frying vamps is a hollywood invention.
