Are we able to post Random or chatting only Topics anytime soon?

Mods, I have a question- my name is Paige but I'm commonly referred to as Tink. Should I be under P or under T?

Well, my name's McKenzie, but I go as Kenzie, I'm filed under K. I'd say, whatever your topic is posted under, if it's "Tink" put it under T, "Paige" put it under P.
Ya Tink. Everyone knows you as your knick, so we would naturally first look under da T section :]
What do we do if our real name is Mckenzie, but our user is Katherine?
It depends on which you would prefer to be called/what is in the title of your topic. But I'd go with Katherine, because it would probably be less confusing.
Whoa! Is your first name spelled just like mine?! That's cool! Everyone always spells McKenzie with an "a" as MacKenzie, or Mackenzie (lowercase k).

I joined this group in hopes of finally putting pen to paper, fingers to the keyboard, voice to recorder -- whatever writing avenue I end up choosing to develop my writing. OK, so fill me in; do I use this group as a sounding board, reference, or what?
Thanks,
D

The purpose of this group is simple. You make yourself a topic under the appropriate folder (in your case, Writers A-D) and name your topic. You set a goal for this year [i.e, writing 200 words every day:]. It can be any sort of goal you want. Then each day, put your wordcount and let us know how you're doing. You can share other details about your life too- what you're up too, good books you're reading, the crazy story about your relatives, whatever you want.
We are your friends- we encourage, nag, push, beg, support, command, anything you need to keep/get you writing. We also sympathize, comfort, etc. when necessary.
If you have any questions, you should post them in this topic or private message Kenzie, Dee, Kassy or Roni, the moderators. They're the experts. Some of the rest of us know most of what's going on also, like me, Sella, Brigid, etc.
:) Hope that answers your question.

NaNoWriMo is short for, National Novel Writing Month. It's an event that takes place in the month of November, which challenges you to write a 50,000 word story in one month. For more information you can look it up online. Just type in "National Novel Writing Month" into Google, and there'll be a link to the website.
It's just a special reward we give one hardworking person each month. It's just recognition of your hard work, and a new place for your topic to sit. :D

You can post whatever you like. Most people post the name of their story, and their word count, but there are some that enjoy adding in little bits of their writing. Mostly, though, people will upload their story onto their account and drop a link, so that we can read your entire piece of work.
yeah... if you post a four thousand word chapter here, people might skip over your post, or just skim it. However, if you provide a link to the chapter on your profile, people who are interested will follow the link, and actually read the story because they want to, not because it was posted in a thread. :)

Is that "Ye Olde" group still alive?
Haha, ye olde story guild? No, it died a long time ago. Writing Passionates is pretty much dead too... there are about five posts a week, at most (which is very small, considering that there used to be... a lot... every day). Umm, WACC (writers against cardboard characters) is good if you need help with characterization!
I would just go to the groups tab at the top, look on the right for the search box, and type in "writing." You can look to see which groups are most active, and possibly take a peek at them. Of course, you could always post it on your profile and then ask people in groups if they would be willing to critique your poem.

Welcome to our group Lisa. Thanks for picking us to be your first :]
We look forward to reading your stories.
