Brigid ✩ | 814 comments Hi everybody! :) Happy New Year, and welcome to my awesome 2010 topic. :D

I'd like my goal to be an average of 1000 words a day or so – I say average because some days it will be a lot more than that, and some days I probably won't write at all. Ha ha. O_o

Anyway, I have like a gazillion goals this year and I probably won't get to them. But here's what I hope to do:

1. Finish writing Walking Shadow and edit it once so I can get my free CreateSpace copy of it (YAY!)

2. Finish writing Jump and possibly start writing the third Maxwell Collins book ;D

3. Finish at least one of my other novels … probably Afterworld or Red. Maybe Shades, if I ever get any ideas for it. O_o

4. Edit (and by that I mean rewrite) Soul Stealer. :P

5. Work on getting Reborn published … which is going okay right now. I'm waiting on one agent's response on a partial. (EEP! :D)

6. Edit Edge … or at least edit enough of it to submit to the Scholastic novel-writing contest thingie.

… Yeah. I guess that's about it. :)

Good luck everybody on your word goals! :D

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 400 comments your topic is NOT the coolest. That's why I have 3 psots on mine and you only have 2 on yours. ha ha.

Good luck on your goals, and good luck on getting Reborn published. You make me feel in adequate because I'm just trying to finish ONE by June. lol.

message 3: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments WELL THEN!! well now mine has three posts so it's just as cool! HAAAAA!!!!

thankies :] aww. well i probably won't finish all those books … i'll probably only end up finishing one. O_o haha

message 4: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 400 comments BUT MINE HAS SIX POSTS NOW!

You probably will. You have 369 days until 2011, since 2010 hasn't started yet. :D and you wrote 100K for nano. I have faith in you.

message 5: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments Well … Whatever!!!!! It's about quality, not quantity! (unlike NaNoWriMo)

Maybe … I don't know. But the rest of the year's going to be pretty busy. I have school and homework and my job, plus I have to do more college research and study for the SAT's. AGGGH!

message 6: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 400 comments You're a junior, right? I hear Junior year kind of sucks. I'm not looking forward to it. Lol. What's your job?

My mom wants me to do crew, which pracitces every day until 5:30. Then I'd get home around 6, take a shower and eat dinner, etc., till 7. Then I'd do homework, and have no time for anything else. "But I need to do a team sport!" Urgh.

You can still do it.

message 7: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments Junior year absolutely sucks. I'm not gonna lie. :P I work at the library … I'm a page. So I just shelve books. Kind boring. heh heh …

ooh, that sucks. i'm sorry :(

well, i sure can try ;D haha

message 8: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 400 comments That's cool. I want to work at the library near be but you need to be sixteen, and I doubt they're hiring anyway right now. Lol.

Yes it does suck. I'm going to try and talk her out of it.

Trying is good enough. Even ifyou fail you got something done.

message 9: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments XD

haha yeah. try it. i would be very pissed if my parents forced me into sports … lol

i suppose. :P

message 10: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 400 comments I bike to school and I'm working on biking up this giant hill that right now I take the bus up. That is exercise and it doesn't take up as much time.

message 13: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments Kind of. :) I go to this kind of laid-back class at the rec center though, so it's not all that hard-core. But it's something. ;D

How do you get the whole CreateSpace novel thingy? I'm still confused. I signed up for it, and then they were like you have to pay taxes, you have to pay a fee . . . I was like what? I thought this was free?!

Hey Brigid :3

It seems like you've got your work cut out for you this year, and I send you oodles of luck.

Just a question: What's CreatSpace?

message 16: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 400 comments CreateSpace is a book binding company. Everyone who wins NaNoWriMo gets a free copy of thier book.

message 26: by Just Plain Ray (new)

Just Plain Ray (Ray_of_Sunshine) | 234 comments XD I was going to do NaNoWriMo, but I just had too much to do in November and plus, I was itching to start my story.

But I already have an idea for 2010's NaNoWriMo...oh noes. I think we should do a mock NaNoWriMo like we did in Write in 2009

message 27: by Amy (new)

Amy (runawaymarbles) | 400 comments You can do it whenever. I did a personal NaNo between May and June.

That is true. But you know … It's just a matter of finding random times to write – like, during breakfast or when you're watching TV or *cough* instead of doing homework *cough* :D

message 50: by Jeanne (new)

Jeanne (jeanne_voelker) Hi Brigid,

Happy New Year! I like your goals a lot. I signed up to follow your blog and they asked for a nickname, so I gave them 'Seattle Friend', a screen name I first used on the New York Times 'Abuzz' several years ago. The photo is the same as the one here at Goodreads. Happy writing and reading in 2010!

Jeanne (aka Seattle Friend)
