Claudia | 2 comments I didn't see Jude Deveraux's A Knight in Shining Armor listed so I'm assuming it's a stand alone book and not part of a series?

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 77 comments Claudia, this group is not by any means an exhaustive list of romance series. The series only get listed here if one of our members has read it and chose to take the time to create the list.

From what I can tell, Knight in Shining Armor is part of The Montgomery series, but the author has no website and without her input it seems that nailing down the actual ordering of the series can be a little tricky.

FictionDB has it listed as #10: http://www.fictiondb.com/author/jude-...

FantasticFiction has it listed as #16: http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/d/j...

I'm certainly no expert on Jude Deveraux's books. I've only read one many years ago. Perhaps there is someone else here or on the historical or time travel romance groups who has actually read it and can address how it fits into the series and/or if it works as a stand-alone.

Claudia | 2 comments Thanks Julie. I did look for the author's website and couldn't find it. If I don't hear from anyone else, I'll try the Montgomery series.

Kathrynn I've read "A Knight in Shining Armor" and didn't realize it was part of a series. There are two discussions on this author in the following groups (links):

Historical Romance

Time Travel Romance

However, on both of those discussions it doesn't appear anyone linked it to a series, but I didn't read each post thoroughly.

Added the book to the time-travel poll in the Romance Book Poll Group for you. Link

willaful Deveraux has written about so many generations of Montgomerys (And Taggerts, whom they intermarry with, IIRC) that it's basically impossible to assign meaningful series numbers to them. I would consider most of them as essentially stand-alones, except when they're cloesly linked, like the "Velvet" books.

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 77 comments That's the impression I was getting Willaful. In fact, I believe the main difference between the FictionDB and FantasticFiction lists that I posted above is that the FictionDB list is in the chronological order in which the books were written, while the FantasticFiction list is ordered chronologically by the time period in which the story takes place. It seems that any sequencing of the books would fall to the reader's preference and may not even have to be read in any particular order at all.

From..."Tammy
Claudia, I'm new to the discussions but I read A Knight in Shining Armor several years ago and still have the book. I read it as a stand alone book and it did not seem to be a part of a series. However, I could be wrong and I'm going to do a little research to find out. If I find anything I'll let you know.

You can goggle Jude Deveraux to find a listing of her books. A Knight In Shining Armor is listed in the Montgomery Series because most all of the them are historical romances, but I really believe it is a stand alone book.

Lady of the Lake Well stand alone and/or series it is a GREAT READ! I think it was my first time travel book! One that hooked me good and solid to TT as well as a Fantasy historical romance! I LOVE THAT BOOK!!!! If it is part in any way to the series i'm going to look for it. Does anyone know how it specifically is linked to the other books? None of the MC in AKISA goes on to be in another book do they?
