cegepner Ok, so... This thing is going to be very hard for me, 'cause I'm in tenth grade, and we have tons of stuff to do for school. BUT, since I didn't manage to finish NaNo'09, I have decided that I needed practice, and I have to finish everything I have started. Hence my decision to finish the two novels I am working on during this year, along with most of the editing so that I can concentrate on NaNo'10 when the time comes.

So. My goal is to write between 150 and 250 words each day (or more) in either of my novels, any of my fanfictions, and any stories I might write for contests or whatever, not including schoolwork. Editing is counted in, because otherwise, I think my brain will overload. ^^

If I don't reach my goal, I will not die, but I will severely hurt my head and start over in 2011. Then, same thing for 2012, the year I graduate (O.O). Of course, I will do it over and over if I DO reach my goals, but... You know what I mean (talking to no one in particular... -.-' I tend to do that a lot...)... Or DO you? Ok, I'm going to stop ranting, and say goodbye, now. :)

message 2: by Paul (new)

Paul Yep, you won't die if you don't reach your goal. Just slap yourself on the wrist and start over...

message 3: by cegepner (new)

cegepner Yeah, will do. :P

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments Hi Kiliro! Good luck with your writing goals. I feel your pain … I'm in 11th grade and it's really hard for me to get my writing done, too. ;D but WE CAN DO IT! woot woot :]

message 5: by cegepner (last edited Dec 29, 2009 04:26AM) (new)

cegepner Yeah!!! We can! :D Actually, I can't wait for 2010 to start. :P

message 6: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments Me neither XD … I have a lot of writing to get done this year. (Who needs homework, anyway? :P)

message 7: by cegepner (new)

cegepner So true... I hate homework. It's so annoying. >.< It keeps me from writing.

Veronica (v_a_b) | 182 comments Mod
Urgh. Homework is awful. But I knew what I was getting in to when I started 9th grade last year. They DID tell us that there would be, on average, 3 hours of homework a night (well... a lot of the time it's shorter, but then there are those days when you get home from school and work on a project for four and a half hours before starting on your other homework...)

Anyhow, good luck with your goals! I hope that we both enjoy the second half of our sophomore year!

message 9: by cegepner (new)

cegepner Haha, yeah, I hope so too. And I hope I reach my goals although I have to do all the homework (gah! I hate those projects!! They take AGES to finish, and then you have to finish the rest... >.<). Good luck with yours as well. :)

Xerxes Break(Vivian Ephona) (ephona) | 201 comments Hey! We're the same age ^^ Good luck with your writing! I understand with all the homework...grr...

Paige Miller | 672 comments Good luck Kiliro! Homework's a b**ch, isn't it?

message 12: by cegepner (new)

cegepner Thanks for all the good luck wishes to you three, yes it's cool that we're the same age... Most people on goodreads aren't (imagine that...), and us tenth graders have to stick together!! :D And, OH YEAH, homework is HORRIBLE. I actually have to read 5 books in less than a week. I mean, I love books, and all, but 5 for school... Books I don't necessarily like... O.O (Slow death... ^^)
Good luck to all of you as well! And looking forward to encouraging each other mutually to keep up with our goals. :P (I'm not gonna lie to you, I think I'm gonna need it... :))

message 15: by cegepner (new)

cegepner OK! I have written 490 words on January 1st, so that's good, and I didn't have a computer at all today, so nothing for now. I might write something before I go to bed tonight, so I'll post if I do. ^^

message 16: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments Nice!

message 17: by cegepner (new)

cegepner Thanks. And I've just written 190 words. Even though, technically, it's already Sunday, I'm counting as Saturday because otherwise, it means I already failed my goals. and it's only January 3rd... Bad bad bad. Soooo, I surpassed my goal for Jan. 1st, and did okay for Jan. 2nd. I hope I'll find time tomorrow (today, actually, but whatever) to write, because I still haven't finished my homework, and school starts on Monday. (Argh!!! T_T)

message 18: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments :( Aww. Yeah, I haven't started my homework either. >_< I go back on Tuesday.

message 19: by cegepner (new)

cegepner Well, good luck!! >.< How I hat homework. GAH!! I wish I could just spend my life at home, on the computer, writing, and reading, and eat all the chocolate I want without fattening, and not have to go to school. That is the wish at the bottom of my heart -- in short, the one I know will never happen. But a girl can dream, can't she? :P

message 20: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments Funny, I have the exact same dream. Seriously. XD I'm always like, "I really just wish I could be writing all day long and do nothing else …"

I think about it all day when I'm at school. XD

message 21: by cegepner (new)

cegepner Oh yeah, same here. UGH, I have to read an entire book by tomorrow, A Raisin in the Sun, and I really can't be bothered... >.<

message 22: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments Oh dear, I had to read that in eighth grade and I hated it. lol. >_<

I'm supposed to read the first chapter of Ethan Frome … I haven't started that. O_o haha. And then I have to do two journal entries for Race and Gender class (yes, it's a real class >_<). Blaaaah. Homework is stoopid.

message 23: by Kyle (new)

Kyle T (kyletee) | 210 comments I AGREE...I have an insane amount of projects piled up...stupid english and stupid memoirs...

and anyway Kiliro good luck with writing in 2010

message 24: by cegepner (new)

cegepner Thanks a lot. :)

OMG!!! I had to read Ethan Frome last year, and it was HELL! It was, like, the ONLY book we did all year, apart from poetry, and it SUCKED, like, MAJORLY. And we have to do it quickly again this year. I'm gonna die. Seriously. At least Journey's End, the one we just finished, wasn't too bad.

Haha, I haven't started it yet, but it doesn't look all that interesting. O_o But we just finished doing The Scarlet Letter, which I liked. :]

message 26: by cegepner (new)

cegepner Oh yeah! I SO want to read that book. i first heard about it when I was reading Speak, which is very good, and it made me want to read The Scarlet Letter. =]

message 27: by cegepner (new)

cegepner OK! So, I managed to read Raisin in the Sun entirely, which is great! Also, I managed to write 280 words on my NaNo novel, so it's going good. :) I might not have finished it in a month, like I should have, but I will finish it someday. :D

I liked Speak … What does it have to do with The Scarlet Letter though? … Oh, yeah. I guess the whole "social outcast" thing. :D haha. Well I really enjoyed The Scarlet Letter. Interesting characters and symbolism. Plus Nathaniel Hawthorne is like the country's first psychological author. He is kind of awesome. :D

woot woot! :D

I'm not done with my NaNo novel either. But I should finish … It's like almost 160,000 words long now, and I'm going to have to like take out half of it! Agh! And I still need to finish. I should do that now. XD (end of rant)

cegepner ♥ Brigid ♥ wrote:

Well, the only thing it has to do with it, apart from what you just said, is that they study it in class and she kind of related to the main character. :P

Concerning the NaNo novel, WOW!!! 160,000 words is a LOT! I wish I'd already written that much. xD But one day, I'll write a novel, and it'll be long, and I'll be so proud of myself I will burst into a million little lights, and that'll be the end of me, but my book will be published. :P

Okay, haha. I don't remember that part, but it makes sense if I think about it. Like, I can see how the two characters relate to each other. XD

Yeah, it is a lot … probably too much. O_o The first 130 pages or so are really repetitive so I'm going to have to do a heck of a lot of editing. :D lol!

message 34: by cegepner (new)

cegepner Haha. Me too. Sometimes I look at what I wrote at the beginning of November, and I sigh, because it's crap. But I'll edit a lot, and it'll get better. Hopefully. xD

message 35: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments Editing is fun fun fun. Teehee.
Just kidding. It drives me crazy. O_o lol

message 37: by Brigid ✩ (new)

Brigid ✩ | 814 comments Yeah … all that reading the story and over and over til you go crosseyed … lol >_<

message 38: by cegepner (new)

cegepner I know the feeling. >.<

BUT, good news! Today, I wrote 760 words! Yay! :D Good night!

cegepner Oh my god... I haven't written in a while. Well, I wrote like, 290 words on Jan. 5th, and then I didn't have any time. I'll start writing again tomorrow. :P

message 44: by cegepner (new)

cegepner Ok, well... I've just moved house, so I didn't have much time to write, BUT!! Yesterday night, I started writing another story, which is NOT my NaNo novel (BAD GIRL, I know, but I couldn't stop myself!) and it's pretty good, for a first draft. I've got the Prologue done, and I'm not sure, but I think Chapter 1 might need to be a little longer... Unless... I'm planning to make it a 3-Part novel, because there are going to be two main characters: Part One= about 1st character. Part Two= about 2nd character. Part Three= longest one, about how they meet.
Anyways, I've got about 1,200 words total so far, and that's in two evenings. :)
