Ola's books in 2010 :)

1.

i kinda expected more. i really liked the 1st part - "Bloodsucking Fiends" but this one was nothing near it. such a shame =(, i gave it two stars only and i wouldn't recomend this book to anyone. it's a waste of time =(
i hope from now on, the books i read are gonna be better =D

Thanks for welcoming me ;p

i've just finished my 2nd book this year - this time started in 2010 ;-)

Amelie Nothomb is one of my favourite writers but this but is a catastrophe. compared to her other books i've read this one was boring and repetitive. for a second time this year - waste of time. =(

And as you know - in a few days I'm off for 8 months and then I'll rather hardly read anything :(

here goes my no 3:

Quite an interesting story of a man that valued loneliness, worth reading.

I'm glad you found Tony Takitani worth reading :) And I hope you'll also enjoy other borrowed books.

i like re-reading books that i put on my virtual 'favorite' shelf. This one always makes me smile and remember of a few smart and really important things in our lives.

"You become responsible forever for what you have tamed."

Although the narration seems kinda childish and naive, the story itself is very moving. I have to admit I cried a bit - it's just not to be understood why some people have to suffer this much. If you ever come across this book, if it's ever available in English - do read it, it's worth it.

This is one of my all time favorites. It is just so classic...and I find that it teaches me something new every single time I read it.

Maybe it's because of my book no 5, but this one didn't move me as much as I expected. It's worth spending some time to read it, but I don't think I'll ever re-read it.

A nice set of feuilletons that made me think a little [each one:], worth reading. =)

Oh, too bad.

Real cliffhanger, worth reading.
I have trouble with books where the main charachter is a mess and can't ever seem to do the right thing. I've read two of the shopaholic books and they both left me irritated because of this.

I don't even know what to say about this one other than I regret I spent so much time on this thin book. Gosh.

I can't wait to read this one! I ordered it at paperbackswap.com, and am waaaaiting for it to show up, I hope it's soon!! =) I'm glad to see a 5 start rating!

Kinda reminds me of 'Twilight' but was waaay better for me. =)

Scary and moving, makes me really thankful for having normal home and a father that truly loves me and would never do me harm.

At first I thought I'd dislike it, but the more I read, the more I liked it and I'll never swap it for another book. Wonderful.

Ola, this one really looks intriguing.

Great book, worth the Man Booker Prize it got in 2008. I strongly recomend it to everyone who'd like to read about the dark sides of India.

I decided to call this one a pseudo-epistolary novel since it's written as a series of e-mails instead of letters. I'm not an expert on that so I'll not brag about my knowledge of literary genres ;-).
'Holly's Inbox' is a book that made me laugh aloud wherever I was reading it (buses and trams included ;-)). A nice, fast read (despite the fact, the book is 680 pages long ;-)).

(4 stars)
For me it's like a Harlequin Desire series but with some supernatural elements in it. It was an easy and pleasant read. There are some pluses and minuses to this book but all in all, it's ok.
Who would I recommend it to? Everyone who likes easy entertainment and isn't affraid of silly books, hahahaha.

Was OK, but nothing special.
