The year has started, however, we are getting ahead of ourselves. February will be right around the corner. The challenge is posted so that you will be able to scour your TBR shelves and set aside books for the Feb theme.

You can post the books you think you will read for the challenge or recommend books worthy of this theme.

The theme for this month will be Romance/Heroine. Either or, but we know most of the time they are tied together. =)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) At least you know what you're gonna read! LOL :P

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

We will see. I own Lunatic Cafe but not Bitten. I want to read it. So I'll have to get it on hold at the library.

message 5: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) I want to read Bitten and Stolen as well. I don't own them so I'll probably be at the library too.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Maybe we can do a buddy read with Bitten in Feb.

message 7: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Maybe! :)

message 8: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) I won't be reading the series again so soon, but wouldn't the Twilight Saga be considered Romance? I probably won't even read the series again until this autumn. I don't think I will be able to read a book for this month's theme. :(

message 9: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Anyone have any suggestions for the Heroine category?

Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 181 comments Nobody's Princess is about Helen of Troy. It's good. :)

message 11: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) I'll have to look into it. It sounds interesting.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Stray would fit this challenge. I hope to finish it. I'm not sure about Beautiful Creatures. I'm not far enough into the book.

Eloradenin (animalsaremyeverything) | 115 comments I'm currently reading Wings. Which is sortof a romance and also sortof a Heroine story

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Perfect! I've seen that one. It sounds pretty good. You'll have to let us know how it is.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

I read Shiver last month. It was ok.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

I finished Stray!
Loved it. Recommend it. Go out and buy it.
Enough of the rhyming...

I will also be finished with Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston before the month is done.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Hurry up and get that last book in for Feb.

I posted the March Challenge theme as well. Have fun picking out some new books.

message 24: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Everyone has participated greatly in the February reading challenge. Here's a summary of the Romance and Heroine books that were read:

Elyssa: The Lunatic Cafe by Laurell K. Hamilton (Heroine), Bitten by Kelley Armstrong (Romance), and Their Eyes Were Watching God by Nora Neale Hurston.

Jordan: Nobody's Princess by Esther M. Friesner

Wlfgrl22: Wings by Aprilynne Pike (Romance & Heroine)

Ayunda: Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater (Romance)

Great job, everyone! Good luck in the March reading challenge; happy reading! :))

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Zakiya... Looks like you were slacking in Feb. What about March?

message 26: by Zakiya (last edited Mar 13, 2010 05:29AM) (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) I'm reading Blood Promise and might read Graceling if I still have time. :)

Question: Do we have to read the books for the challenge only in that month? Because LW and LOTF both have green on them, but I wasn't sure if I could count them or not.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

I have the challenge set up for the first of the month to the last day of the month. If you want to include Little Women in the March challenge you better get reading. :)

message 28: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Okay thanks Elyssa! HR! :D

message 29: by Ayunda (new)

Ayunda (ayundabs) great, can't wait to do the April challenge!

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm glad you are looking forward to April.

Happy Reading.
