They are just fun little reads. Another of her series is the Agatha Raisin mystery series, of which I have the first one, but I haven't read it yet. Let me know if you start reading any of them, Kay.

Thanks, Jan, for the positive feedback on the Agatha series. I hope to read some of it this year.

Glad to see you liked The Help so well . . . it's on my "To Read" list for this year.

Kay, I urge you to read it sooner rather than later. I'm glad I did.

Thanks, Andrea. I am having a pretty good run right now.

I'm glad to see this rated highly; it's on my to-read shelf. It looked like a very interesting idea.

I was intrigued by the idea, too. I love time travel lit, and this one has a unique twist on that.

How true, how true. And might I just take this opportunity to say what great moderators you and Kay are, Andrea. Thanks for running a great group!
It is entirely our pleasure Kathy! We both enjoy this great group so much, we only wish we had more time to spend with you all!...lol Such is life, you make the most of what you have :)

I had been waiting a long time for Kostova's second novel, as I loved her first one, The Historian. I wasn't disappointed. This second one is a wonderful art-fiction book. See my review for more of my praises for it.

Another great Hamish Macbeth mystery from Beaton

I might read "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall" - it's a book selected by one of my goodreads groups. . . glad to see you gave it 4 stars. That's encouraging.

I might read "The Tenant of Wildfell ..."
Kay, the book group I read Wildfell Hall for was The Victorians. Is that the group you're referring to? I'm so glad you're enjoying The Help. And, yes, read M.C. Beaton just for the fun of it, especially the Hamish Macbeth series. I imagine myself in the small Scottish village of Lochdubh in the Highlands. It makes me really want to go there, too.

I might read "The Tenant ..."
Kathy - yes, I was thinking of joining The Victorians in their discussion of Wildfell Hall - but I'm so far behind at this point that I probably won't.

I might r..."
I wanted to read it in part so that I would have read something by each Bronte sister. Also, I'm trying to read a few "classics" this year. I don't often fit in a read with a group, but I try to every once in awhile.

22. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

23. Lincoln's Dreams by Connie Willis

24. A Murderous Procession by Ariana Franklin

25. The Wife's Tale: A Novel by Lori Lansens

26. An Unpardonable Crime: A Novel by Andrew Taylor

27. The Hand That First Held Mine by Maggie O'Farrell

28. Shakespeare's Landlord by Charlaine Harris

29. Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl

My mom LOVES Hamish Macbeth. Totally. Not so much Agatha Raisin. I might read the Hamish ones myself sometime. And I think I need to bump up Thirteen Reasons Why. I am just hearing so much good about this book.

It's been a great reading time lately. I just started The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest, bought a copy from Book Depot so I wouldn't have to wait until this summer.

Dawn, the next Alan Bradley book, The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag is as good as the first. I recently started on Harris' Lily Bard series and like them, but I haven't started on the Harper Connelly ones, plan to though. Hamish Macbeth is wonderful. I have the first Agatha Raisin one, but I haven't read it yet.
Kathy, it will be sad to read The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest knowing it is the last one he wrote before he died.
