This will be an ongoing challenge. I think 80 books in one year for one challenge may be stretching myself a wee too thin but I'll see how far I go.

Will do! I'm in a bit of a quandary now as I started a book written by a Canadian author that i believe takes place in Canada but so far other than a reference to Canadian fiction in a conversation between two of the characters there is no direct statement as to the book taking place in Canada. Being from Canada I know the first book in my challenge has to take place there so I don't know if I should use it or not. :(

Let me know what you decide to do with this.

I have the same thing going on with a book for Bulgaria. It's about a "Bulgarian" writer, but doesn't ever really mention taking place in Bulgaria....

I chose to count it as the first book. There were two references made that were unmistakably Canadian, one of which was a place I was familiar with so I felt confident in claiming that as my first book in the challenge.

Okay! Good, I'm glad. I think I'll go forward with the Bulgarian book too. If I can ever make it through my book for Estonia...

Was it good? -- I forgot to ask. I know the TNBBC was reading it and it looked interesting...

I really didn't care for it but I seem to be in the minority. It just seemed silly and extremely far fetched for my liking. I think perhaps I'm too cold hearted or blooded to appreciate it.
