What do you find sexually appealing? Not necessarily; boob, pecks, butt, legs, abs, short hair long hair, tall short thin/thick. What do you find visually appealing, and does that transfer over when he/she opens his/her mouth?

Think and discuss, I will be back in a few hours to weigh in.

Sarah (songgirl7) Harry Connick Jr. and Tom Welling are perfect physical specimens, in my opinion.

I like tall, muscular, brown hair, blue or green eyes, full lips, taut tush. Washboard abs. Basketball player arms. Strong hands. I like that V line of the pelvic bone. You know what I mean, girls?

The man I married is none of the above, except for the brown hair. *shrug* Go figure.

EDIT: Because I had been directing people to my avatar, which was Tom Welling, but now it's me, so that would be weird.

B. (briant) | 99 comments Dirty talk in bed, smart talk the rest of the time. Confidence when nude, no matter what size or shape one happens to be in. Hmm. Able to dance with ecstatic abandon(even if nude), regardless of whether anyone else is watching. Monogamous sluttery, in bedroom attire and choice of amorous activities and positions. An excellent sense of humor, and a fine appreciation for mine. A curved belly, no abs nonsense, and generous curves all over in general; no boyish, muscled fourteen year old boy body with boobs for me. Imperfections which scream "real woman," not airbrushed perfection(yuck). Okay, that's enough...must cold shower now!

message 4: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Monogamous sluttery

Love it.

RandomAnthony I like smart, cool women. Physically I don't really have much of a type, honestly, but I'm not going to lie and say that all women are attractive to me.

I have a thing for dark haired women...Penelope Cruz, etc. I also like short blondes.

I don't like women who are desperate for normality. I never want to be just the husband because someone has to have a husband. I'm not easy to live with, I can admit that, because I don't care about a lot of "normal" husband things, e.g. golf, barbacues, etc...so a woman better be used to me reading, drinking, and hanging out with my friends. My wife is cool about it.

I like a guy who is smart, capable, and kind - one where you can see some inner thought when you converse. And tall is nice.
Brad Pitt bores me. It never looks like he is doing any thinking.

message 7: by John (last edited Apr 25, 2008 04:07PM) (new)

John Holzer (jilsao) Just personal taste, but i find "comfortable" sexy. Lingerie, high heels, underwire stuff, all harkens back to foot binding as far as I'm concerned. Give me flannel jammies or nothing (preferably nothing). I also have a thing for eyebrow peircings and nose piercings, especially on "cute" girls where they look just a tad out of place...Hmm, I like piercings...maybe I just want a certain level of comfortable...

message 8: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) I like smart and good sense of humor, too. But I thought Nick's question was what do we find visually appealing? Now my post seems so shallow.

:::swoon::: uhm... apparently I find Brian appealing... or at least his description of what he finds appealing. Rawr. Come on over to my house anytime. ; )

message 10: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Charissa, I almost told Brian that I am his perfect woman, because he pretty much described me, but I didn't want to sound like I was coming on to him. heh.

I guess for me, with men it's not so much about the looks. Okay, Aristotle Onassis was a troll, ugh, but if a guy is clean and within average standards, his looks will pass muster.

But if you want a list of who I think is visually appealing, okay:

Antonio Banderas (smokin' hot, actually)
Colin Firth (isn't Colin a universal fave among women?)
Hugh Grant (the hair, the smile, and he's tall)
Anderson Cooper (it's weird, I know - I think I'm dazzled by his wit)

message 13: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) This could almost go back to the "who would you do?" thread.

message 14: by Sally (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) I'm completely magnetized by boys with curly hair. And glasses, the Buddy Holly-er the better. I like muscles in the forearm, and that twitchy one in the jaw.
Cowboys really do it for me too. I love that jaw muscle under a cowboy hat. Has anyone seen Urban Cowboy the first scene after he shaves his beard? oooooooh yeah.

Also - certain people's natural aromas draw me in. My sense of smell is very particular and strange - there aren't too many food smells I like as much as I do shades of people smells.

This all only once ever transfered over when he opened his mouth. And I was so quivery and my heart was thudding so hard that I was completely no good with a reply when I finally did find my tongue. Goodbye, sexy smelling curly haired glasses wearing man.

message 15: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony Talk about tall guys some more. That was really good for my ego last time that happened. Nick's tall too.

*high fives Nick*

message 16: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony I think Paris Hilton's smokin' hot. I wish more women were like her. Forget all this sense of humor and intelligence crap. I want a bored-looking stick figure who puts out on camera.

message 17: by J (new)

J I like guys who don't like Paris Hilton.

message 18: by J (new)

J Okay. Seriously.

I find men visually appealing. Men who look like men. No manicures, no waxing, no gelled hair. Full of imperfections.

What do I find mentally stimulating? A guy who is smart enough to hold an intelligent conversation and smart enough to know when one is not needed. Relaxed, comfortable with himself. I find men with an appreciation for plump, petite blondes particularly pleasant to be with.

message 19: by RandomAnthony (last edited Apr 25, 2008 04:44PM) (new)

RandomAnthony I think Brian's description is on its way to craiglist's personals...maybe he could get royalties.

By the way, Mimi, is it raining like crazy down by you?

message 20: by Sally (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) yes - I love tall men who like petite plump women, hells yeah. Makes me feel small and feminine.

Donald darling... you already know I adore you. Must the world witness my scathing desire for your hot physique all over again?

message 22: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (songgirl7) Mimi, I don't like body builder types, but I do like jock types. But I'm sooooo with you on the broad shoulders and narrow hips.

I also like a man in a nice suit or a tux. And I love the suit with no tie and open collar look. Yum.

message 23: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony Yes, Mimi, it's been raining like hell her off and on all day. Weird sky colors, too.

I'll be down in your fair city tomorrow. See what you do about traffic, ok? Can you just get everyone to stay home, especially on the Edens? Thanks much.

Inky | 41 comments Things are sunny, sunny in my corner of the planet...

Here's what I like:
Eye contact, the kind that creates sizzle, not suspicion that he's a stalker or a plainclothes detective. Directness in his approach. Kindness in his words. Hands that look capable of holding all of me. An open intellect that welcomes challenge and new ideas. Humor -- if he can make me laugh, he's part of the way home. Dark hair. Dark eyes I can look up to.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 1811 comments Mod
Humor, yeah, very important.
And being tall. Tall guys are very sexy.

message 26: by Inky (new)

Inky | 41 comments Tall is nice, but I'm fine with someone my height or above. Too tall can be awkward.

message 27: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Make me laugh and I'm yours forever. But you gotta be smart. Funny without smart is just moronic foolery.

My god there are so many pathways to perfection... I'm sitting here trying to come up with the words that describe what I mean, but it's just not so easy. I can't tell you what makes a man attractive, but I know it when it talks to me. Something about that connection. That moment when you can think to yourself, "Yeah, he gets me."

message 30: by B. (new)

B. (briant) | 99 comments I have been fortunate enough to find what I describe in my partner Danielle. Thank you all for your kind words. I blush. May I offer a few more words on attraction...
Smells good without chemical additives. Face and face with make-up are the same face. Underwear is always optional. Prefers lakes over pools, parks over resorts, sex over shopping. Brave, fierce and highly opinionated. Kind to strangers, grocery store clerks, and waitresses. Occasionally naked outdoors.

Sarah (songgirl7) Uh oh, Brian. You lost me with the makeup thing, as I do NOT look like remotely the same person without makeup on.

Reads with Scotch | 1977 comments Mod
RA: Dude, I really hate to leave you hanging but Paris Hilton makes me want to knaw on my own entrails. Sometimes in the proper lighting I think she has some attractive qualities, but she will always, with out fail, ruin it by opening her mouth.

I find I am attracted to the oddest things.

**Previous post** the Coffee Shop girl; Nothing really extraordinary about her, she has a charming smile, always seems chipper without being over the top which would just piss me off. (Where in the hell does she get off being so happy?) She seems to have an infinite amount of Choker jewelry… Is that the right term? The necklaces that are snug? Anyway she always has strange groovy things hanging from them, and every one seems to have a story, that takes her 20 minutes to tell. I know this would never happen at a starbucks or whatever but things move slower in Alaska.

I am not into super fit girls at all. Athletic is one thing but women sporting more testosterone then me is slightly freighting, ranks right up there with midgets. It is all about proportions. 5 feet should be around 100-125??? I don’t really know, I am no carnival worker who guesses peoples height/weight/boobie size. I just know that a little curve can go a long way. I think tone is probably the most important erotic quality one could have.

I find it fitting so many women like tall guys. I am enamored with the “shorty’s” My wife is just barely 5 feet tall. This might stem from my infatuation with pixies. But I don’t know.

Reads with Scotch | 1977 comments Mod
Thank you Sarah, the world is set right again. Please no more gender bending... at lest wait until I'm up for a few hours. This morning I was so confused, I was all...

“Who’s this asshole imitating newt?"

After a few minutes it dawned on me that you were just throwing up one of your moisture makers.

Reads with Scotch | 1977 comments Mod
At this current time I would really find a comfortable bed appealing.

message 38: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony Oh, I was just trying to incite a riot with the Paris Hilton comment. Apparently you people saw right through me. Except for Nick.

Reads with Scotch | 1977 comments Mod
I have been known to be a bit dence at times.

message 40: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony I tend to like coffee shop girls too. They're kind of like an extension of library girls. Same phylum or order or whatever.

I guess the only girls I don't like are the alpha girl supermom types who try so hard to gather informal power and intimidate others. Maybe I'm around them in a small town too much, but they really bug the living shit out of me.

I guess I like girls who are kind and compassionate, comfortable with themselves, reasonably interesting, and can hold good conversations. I also don't like loud, braying girls. And I don't think they like me.

This is harder to articulate than I thought.

It would have been easier to articulate in high school. Back then the standards were "any girl who would talk with me and, in the distant future, let me touch her in any way at all."

Reads with Scotch | 1977 comments Mod
like on her boob?

Reads with Scotch | 1977 comments Mod
on top of her shirt only.

message 43: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony I may have fainted had she let me go further. Better to start slowly.

message 44: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony Ok, two more quick things:

1. I seemed to always date girls with glasses. Girls with glasses are cute.

2. I like not having a "type". Why bother? Embrace diversity.

Reads with Scotch | 1977 comments Mod
I can confirm the glasses stance RA. I don't really know why, but there is an appeal. I think it is a sophisticated look. I always imagine these super girls working quantum physics and then shrugging off their lab coat and getting nasty with "it"

message 46: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony Whew. Nick, you and I are definitely on the same page.

A girl wrote my seven year old son a note in class yesterday. Here's the text of the note, which he brought home.

Dear Skylar,

Thank you for helping me with math and reading. You were very kind to me. I like your face painting. You do look like an alien now. You work very hard on your work. You are good at football. Good job.

Madison

Ok, she's on the short list for future prom dates, as far as I'm concerned, as long as she stands up to him and doesn't let his head get too big.

Reads with Scotch | 1977 comments Mod
that was so disjointed I thought it was something I wrote :-p

Is skylar the one giving me the finger?

message 48: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony No, Nathaniel is the one giving you the finger. Skylar has longer hair.

message 49: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony This article reminded me of this thread. Women in their thirties and forties rock.

Lorena (lorenalilian) Hi I'm new to the group ...

I find a man who can talk about a variety of things appealing, too often succesful man are so focus on their area of interest that they cannot talk about anything else.

I love men that take good care of themselves but I don't find the metro-sexual look and attitude appealing.

A good sense of humor is great, but with balance, not to sure about the clown type.
