I was looking forward to it and scifi is my favorite TV channel (along with BBCA). But I hated it. I only watched the first hour and was really bored by it. I didn't like the girl who played Alice and they picked a really ugly outfit for her to be stuck in. I expected it to be much better, especially after last year's Tin Man.

I have several of them on my Netflix queue, but haven't viewed them yet.
I used to consider myself Alice in Wonderland when I first came out to the Web. In fact, I once used the following as my icon at a discussion board:

Annoying, isn't it?

'The girl', (I don't remember her name either, but this is true in about 80% of my tv viewing) was a hottie in my estimation. Her outfit could have been briefer, but then I'm a pig. I liked the way the story was 'modernized'. I seem to recall the original Alice was political satire of some sort? or was that Gullivers Travels? I'll probably catch part II sometime. Probably I'll have forgotten what part I was about by that time. SciFi Channel has deteriorated in my view. Seems like all they play are space ship Startrek spinoffs. I'm tired, jaded of those. That's why I wasn't watching the content closely, I EXPECTED to be disappointed by Alice and was pleasantly surprised.

It's not even that her clothes could have been skimpier, the colors were ugly together, that over-jumper thing was horrible. What young girl these days would wear that?
'The girl' couldnt act, either. I thought I'd like Alice with the modern themes, that's why I referenced Tin Man. The Wizard of Oz through a blender and modernized.
Siffy has been sucking lately. Once BSG finished, it seemed to be all over for them. StarGate Universe is pretty good, darker and deeper than the other StarGates. Sanctuary is awful, I wish they just pull the plug on that one. Caprica starts soon, but I don't hold out much hope for that either, I appears to be more of a drama than the mustery and excitment of BSG.
I'm hoping they'll pick up the FOX-cancelled Dollhouse. They did it for the original StarGate, which ran 4 seasons on UPN before cancellation and then Siffy took it for 6 more seasons and did a fine job of it too.

I was absolutely charmed! I'm not a big fan of SyFy anymore (used to be SciFi) and, though I check it in the newspaper tv section, I don't expect much from it. Anyhoo, I had the impression Alice was a movie so, the SyFy DID keep running it all that week, I thought I'd already recorded the movie. Shucks. Apparently there was a Dec 6 AND a Dec 7 episode, so I missed the 2nd epi. Haven't found a place to watch it online as yet. I don't know if more of this series is on the way or whether the clever network execs have already cancelled it. I liked it, so the rule of thumb is that the meatheads will cancel it.
