Is your ultimate goal to publish your story?

Anyway, I wish you the best in reaching your goals and it's great to hear that 2009 was wonderful for you. :o)

Yes! I meant 100 words! HA! 100 pages would be insane! I wish I could be writing 100 words a night, I'd settle for 100 letters at this point.
I'm not sure how long this writing sabbatical will last. I really should get back into writing again, I think it could distract me from the harsh realities of life again. The sad part is that I still have to be a responsible adult as well. Balancing life is tricky.
I haven't forgotten about this wonderful, caring goodreads community, and I hope to return soon.
I miss you all.
Hey Julie,
I just read the lovely review that you wrote on Sons of Avalon: Merlin's Prophecy. Your words touched my heart and moved me to tears.
You, my dear, are the reason that I write ...
I am overjoyed that you enjoyed Merlin's tale.
Wishing you a most wonderful new year, filled with pages and pages of writing.
Huge hugs,
Dee Marie

We miss you too! Come back to us soon!

I finally made myself get back into the story. It's really since NANO that's I've made any measurable progress. It's kind of embarrassing to admit!
A couple of other things have helped me get back on the wagon, one being tired of constantly worrying about things. Writing really helps me get my mind off of things, when time allows. ALSO I saw a movie trailer for the upcoming film "The Adjustment Beaureau," and saw some eerie similarities. It reminded me that I really needed to finish my story! I don't want people thinking I stole ideas from movies like this!
Here's the link to watch the trailer if you are curious: http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1810119...
As I got back into things, I decided to reread my story from the beginning, and decided to start editing blaring mistakes and fixed some inconsistencies that happen as the story progresses without consulting the earlier parts of it. So I don't have any word counts yet, but I edited about 2 chapters today only, and hope to finish a third.
Here's to baby-steps!

So, in my editing, I found a part that breaks off somewhat abruptly and realized that I didn't actually finish the section. I took on the task of adding some closure to the segment and ended up adding 1,100 words to the chapter! Whoo hoo!
I then decided to tally all my words for the story, and I have a count of 83,355 for the total so far. It's good to see the number, but after I finish this little editing stint I need to really focus on the conclusion. I just want it to be exciting, and I'm having trouble conjuring up the excitement! I know I just have to do it, it won't write itself. Besides, when ever I have a "block" and I work through it is when I end up with some of my best material.
Here's to editing and conclusions! I'm back to the editing for now!
:)

Have you posted what you're working on on Goodreads? I'd like to read it!
Go show your writer's block who's boss :)

I've been working on the story over a year and half now (to be fair I did take a 6 month+ break!) and desperately want to finish this darn story! I came very close during the NaNoWriMo contest and found that I burnt myself out on writing. Then in December I played catch-up on all my neglected work-work and house-work that I got out of the writing groove altogether. I'm working on getting back into the habit of writing! :)
I do have some excerpts posted here on goodreads:

I need to check the chapters I've posted, I may have edited and changed some details, but the idea is still there for sure.

It's good to see you too! I've been meaning to ask how the writing is going. I'll be making rounds to the different cubes soon to bug ,er, visit everyone! ;) I've missed everyone terribly. It's funny how not being around other supportive writers can weaken the writing mojo.
Sadly, there is no writing update today. I worked at my newish part-time job, and had various other things to attend to. Booo, not nearly as much fun as spending the day with my characters.

I did get a little more editing in when one of my workshops released us early! It was quite a luxury to edit during this crazy week.
I just did another word count to see how many words I added in process of editing. The new total is: 83,741 which means I wrote 386 words on Tuesday in my editing stint. Yay! I'm going to make sure I get a little time to work on writing. I don't have ANY workshops for a whole 7-day span! Whoo hoo!!
I'm off for now!

It's been a lovely, and lazy day! I slept in, while I could, watched a missed show on the computer (I LOVE Lie To Me!), and got some editing in! It was wonderful! After this update I hope to write/edit a little more before I must tackle some errands. So, for the update: word total: 83,967 which means I added 226 words today! Not much, but I was editing.

We need your vote. Thanks!

So, 2010 has proven to be a bust for me in the writing department, but I could write a whole novel containing the drama of the year. Maybe 2010 will eventually be the year to write ABOUT. ;)
Readers Digest Version: A part-time job combined with my full time job makes Julie a very dull girl. Two of my friends in my family-like group of friends broke up, shaking the dynamic of each friendship. Lasting drama ensued. Home-ownership, though great, is quite a responsibility. My grandmother's passing this year was devastating. The loss has also strengthened my family's bond.
I am resolved to not let this large bump in the road completely throw me off track as far as my desire to write and to finish a story or book. I'm finally feeling I've fallen back into a better state of being, and that is a step in the right direction.
I have to say, even though I'm not as involved with this group as I'd like to be, that I love being a part of it. I love seeing writers grow and meet goals, enter contests, and even get published. It's inspiring!
As for 2011, I don't want to make any promises that I can't keep. I'll make a new goal once I can get back into a groove. I will post writing updates though, I guess that in itself is a goal!
Here's to a wonderful new year!!
For 2010 I'd like to:
*finally finish my story!
*write something at least 5 days out of every week. Everyday would be great, but it's just not realistic for me.
*on the nights I do write, make sure I get down at least 100 pages.
Here's to a new year, and wonderful writing!!
:D
