Jim (jimmaclachlan) | 979 comments While I've read both stories, I would love to see the actual book sometime. OK, I'd LOVE to own it! but there were only 1000 copies of it printed & it sells for well over $100, which I just can justify.

There is a copy for sale on Ebay for $119 plus $10 shipping right now, until Jan 17.
Here's the link, if you're interested.

If nothing else, the covers give you some idea of the artwork in it. Looks neat.

ckovacs | 145 comments Both books have been re-released this month in regular hardcovers by Donald M. Grant, the original publisher. The ISBN for Way Up High is 978-1880418819 and for Here There Be Dragons it is 978-1880418826. They're available for order directly from the publisher (secure.grantbooks.com) plus Amazon has picked them up now. They're $19.99 each at full price.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) | 979 comments Wow! That's a great price compared to the $100 I paid for my copy. Mine is signed by Zelazny & is in the 300s. Thanks for letting us know. Grant does some really nice books, although most I've heard about are the Robert E. Howard ones.

Michael (dolphy76) | 11 comments I bought them. They are for my grand daughter!
As for Donald M Grant, I have a large collection of their books. Besides the Robert E Howard books, he also published books by Talbot Mundy, Harold Lamb, William Hope Hodgson, Joseph Payne Brennan, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Tanith Lee, Fritz Leiber and many more. The most famous author is Stephen King. The original Dark Tower Series began there with Michael Whelan artwork. They still publish all of the deluxe Dark Tower series. Also have Stephen King and Peter Straub deluxe slipcased copies of Talisman and Black House. Signed by everyone except Stephen King I believe.

Several of us were just talking about how easy it is to spend money. I've been limiting my expensive book purchases to NESFA & Centipede Press. Thanks a lot, Michael.
;)

Casey | 25 comments I've got two of the signed boxed sets, don't remember my numbers. If I didn't have those I'd JUMP at these.

Michael (dolphy76) | 11 comments Yes, I spoke to you before about NEFSA. I purchased all six of the Zelazny books of short stories, poetry, etc. Love them!

ckovacs | 145 comments I picked up a pair of these new editions to go in my collection. There are some differences to the original limited edition set, beyond the obvious fact that these aren't signed by the author. The pages are bigger and the artwork is reproduced about 20% larger. The font is much smaller so these books have less than half the number of pages than the first edition. The color of the artwork is different in every plate, which makes me wonder which edition is truer to the Bodé originals. In some cases the artwork seems richer or more saturated, in other cases it seems a bit muddied. The pages are glossy and the boards have the dust jacket artwork reproduced on them.

There were a couple of mistakes. Zelazny is listed in the bio of both books as dying in 1996 when the correct date was 1995. And on the copyright page they list his website as being www.rogerzelazny.com. There isn't such a website. I think they probably meant www.roger-zelazny.com, which is a fan website run by Scott Zrubek, and has nothing to do with the Zelazny Estate.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) | 979 comments Thanks for the update, Chris. Might be worth getting a copy for the artwork.
