RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I'm supposed to be teaching. My students are in a group project, though, and they get all quiet when I walk near the groups, so I'm just gonna stay over here.

What are you supposed to be doing, if anything, when you're on goodreads?

message 2: by Catalina (new)

Catalina | 268 comments I'm supposed to making jewelry. But I'm not.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm supposed to be working from home today. Thing is, I'm pretty much done, so I'm multi-tasking in other ways: eating lunch, watching TV, monitoring e-mails, and goofing off on GR.

message 4: by Melinda (new)

Melinda (missmelinda) If I were to work from home, I think I'd get distracted by laundry. The laundry never seems to end at my house.

I'm supposed to be doing my usual paper shuffling and getting things done, but I'm pretty much all caught up currently.

message 5: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I am both more and less productive when I work at home. I get a shitload done in two hours and then screw around the rest of the day. Sometimes offices are the worst places to work, though, for me...all these pesky people...wanting things...

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Melinda, you just reminded me...I'm also doing the laundry. I'm a multitasking fool, if you ask me.

I tend to be more productive when working from home if I have a lot on my plate. Right now, I have 2 projects that are in holding patterns - I can't continue until my business clients come to a decision on how they want the projects re-written to fit financial constraints - and a bunch of paperwork that I'm in no hurry to complete. So today I'm taking it light, getting stuff done around the house and taking my sweet time in getting work stuff done.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments I'm supposed to be at home taking my dog outside during my lunchbreak, but I'm on here instead. I think if Robby met any of you in person, he'd hate be-not-particularly-fond-of your guts.

I'm REALLY scandalized that RA is on GR while in the classroom.

I'm supposed to be at home working on tomorrow's lesson. But I needed to eat before I did anything else (in pregnancy this is a MAJOR situation that can't be ignored) so I'm in my office eating grapes, cheese, clementines, and a sandwich before making the trek to my automobile.
I'm almost done.

The fella I've been seeing sends me dirty texts from the classroom. :D (He teaches)

message 12: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments i should be working on a paper, the deadline is tomorrow. i'll probably procrastinate some more and work very hard from 11pm to 3am, that's when i'm most productive. i have the same problem as ra, i can do an amazing amount of work in just one or two hours, but i'm just too good at screwing around to give it up.

message 13: by Mary (new)

Mary (madamefifi) I'm off today but it's been extremely disorienting because we are having the upstairs bathroom remodeled. Today was the first day and the contractors were tearing out the old fixtures which was quite noisy, so I couldn't really get any sleep. Plus having a couple of strange men in the house all day was not as much fun as it used to be when I was younger.

message 14: by Lori (new)

Lori Except my ex electrician. I had some serious fantasies about him! Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at this, he moved.

I have a double sink in the kitchen, and both compartments are completely full, in addition to the 3 pots and pans on my counters. Fuck it. Time for some popcorn!

Wow - a sexting teacher! Or would that be a teaching sexter.

message 16: by Catalina (new)

Catalina | 268 comments Whatever it is, I like it.

message 17: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments i am supposed to be watching Happy Feet with my wife now but...

message 18: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I would like to make clear that I am not sexting with Catalina while I teach. If I were to do so all my sexts read like "hI CatA.i.a.la!" I'm not very good at texting.

Are you on the laptop in the same room, Kevin? I do that all the time..."Sure, I'm paying attention, great movie, hon..."

message 19: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments yup. my chair is off to the side of the TV. my wife LOVES movies and watches something every nite. i am using my macbook. i follow all sports on ESPN.com and check emails. was gonna skype with my son tonight but he is busy. my son in law is here though

Should be slaving over an academic essay but it's Friday and FUN is beckoning!!

message 22: by Catalina (new)

Catalina | 268 comments I should be moving stuff into my partner's (now OUR) apartment and packing for a weekend in Athens. I should be doing this before the "wintery mix" starts falling. But I am having coffee and watching Matlock.

message 23: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Does your partner know you watch Matlock? You might want to reveal that before you move in together.

message 24: by Catalina (last edited Feb 12, 2010 07:25AM) (new)

Catalina | 268 comments Dude. Do NOT dis The 'Lock.

message 25: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments is murder she wrote on after that?

message 26: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Followed by Designing Women and Golden Girls...

message 27: by Catalina (new)

Catalina | 268 comments In the Heat of the Night. I rarely watch that as it gets too heavy for so early. I respect it as a show, though.

message 28: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments the early Andy Griffith movie No Time For Sargent's is very funny

message 29: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
I think my grandpa used to like Matlock.

message 30: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) When Andy Griffith first started to be Andy Taylor on TV, he was more like he was in No Time. He soon found that he had to be the straight man for all of the other Kookie characters, and be the sure-footed sheriff and dad to Opie.

message 31: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (buckythecat) I'm supposed to be sending bills to clients. This is way more fun. I LOVE In the Heat of the Night. Obviously not enough to watch it NOW, but...

message 32: by Catalina (new)

Catalina | 268 comments Now, I should be cleaning up the apartment before Mr. Catalina gets home so we can get on the road ASAP before the snowiness happens. Buuuuuuut, I'm not.

message 33: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Mr. Catalina. I like that.

message 34: by Shana (new)

Shana (shanac55) | 98 comments I'm supossed to be filing or something, but I'm sending emails to Vanessa about random life things. Waaay more fun :)

message 35: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (buckythecat) It's way more fun because, well, the other is boring and WE ARE HILARIOUS.

message 36: by Shana (new)

Shana (shanac55) | 98 comments For real. We are pretty much the funniest people we know. And I think I just wrote "for real" for the second time today. Sorry, it won't happen again.

message 37: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Likely story.

message 38: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (buckythecat) Oh. I think now I'm supposed to be cleaning my work area. I keep catching myself singing "Twenty Cycles to the Ground" out loud. Glad the office is a ghost town today.

message 39: by Catalina (new)

Catalina | 268 comments It seems we are going to hang out for a bit before hitting the road, so it seems I did all of that not-cleaning-up for nothing. So, I'm not doing it now, instead.

Phil | 11837 comments Shana wrote: "Sorry, it won't happen again. "

For real?

message 41: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Mr. Catalina.

message 42: by Shana (new)

Shana (shanac55) | 98 comments Absolutely. At least for today.

message 43: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Mr. Catalina.

message 44: by Micheal (new)

Micheal | 38 comments I'm supposed to be making polywogs pay for their Land-Loving ways. Yarrrr!!! God I Love The Navy

message 45: by Catalina (new)

Catalina | 268 comments Why do you keep saying that, Larry?!?

message 46: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Saying what?

message 47: by Catalina (new)

Catalina | 268 comments "Mr. Catalina"?

message 48: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I didn't say it. You did. #33.

message 49: by Catalina (last edited Feb 14, 2010 03:25PM) (new)

Catalina | 268 comments But you said it twice. #43 & #45. Just trying it out?

message 50: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I'm just weird sometimes.
