Andrea (andreag) | 15 comments I just finished one from MC Beaton's Hamish McBeth series "Death of a Perfect Wife." I've been on a Hamish kick - not so much for the plots as for the characters and the descriptions of the small town life.

I've started Arianna Franklin's "Mistress of the Art of Death." Since I had a couple plane flights this week, I made a pretty good start at it, and have really been enjoying it.

Next after that is probably the 3rd book in the Maise Dobbs series.

Leah | 2 comments "Mistress of the Art of Death" was great!!! I'm curious to know what you think of it when you've finished it. I really enjoyed it along with Arianna Franklin's other book, "City of Shadows". Enjoy!! :)

Andrea (andreag) | 15 comments I finished "Mistress of the Art of Death" today. It really pulled me along, so I set aside the other books I've been reading while I finished it.

There were a couple places where due to the foreshadowing I was able to guess what would happen next or to whom something would happen, and I wasn't all that surprised by whodunit. I thought it was well written overall and that the ending was well done.

I'm looking forward to reading "City of Shadows."

I just finished Suspect by Michael Robothom which is a great book. I have read his non-series work before but hadn't read any of the Joe O'Loughlin books before. Am looking forward to reading more of them but as I don't own any others yet my next mystery read will probably be Kathy Reichs' latest. Although I'm going to tackle a non-mystery, Pillars of the Earth, as my next good read.

Celeste (celestelueck) | 10 comments I'm currently reading The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz. Ms. Lutz is a very sharp writer. I'm really enjoying her first book and I'm sure I'll pick up her sequel when I finish this one.

Wilhelmina Jenkins | 21 comments I am happily leaping into The Tin Roof Blowdown, a Dave Robicheaux Novel by James Lee Burke. I'm a long-time fan of the Robicheaux series, and the setting of Hurricane Katrina promises to make this book one of the best.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) I just finished Crimson Joy, by Robert B. Parker, which I enjoyed.

My next mystery will probably be Paper Doll, also by Robert B. Parker.

Pamela I loved Crimson Joy, Susanna. I don't think Parker's come up to that level in any subsequent book, although they're still
good reads." Let us know what you think about Paper Doll.

Amber Foxx (amberfoxx) | 37 comments I am working on my review of The Pot Thief Who Studied Pythagoras. Loved it. It's eccentric, off-beat, totally original. Definitely getting hooked on this series.

Tiffani (tiffanipassportbooks) | 2 comments I just finished A Beautiful Blue Death which I thought was just okay. Before that I read The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag and A Fatal Grace, both of which I very much enjoyed.

Dave (surfer) | 15 comments Just finished Finders, Keepers (Stephen King)the second installment of a three part series begun with the Award Winning Mr. Mercedes. "I was walking in the woods one day and a thought occurred to me...", how a story is born.

Up next, The Wright Brothers.

message 17: by Amber (new)

Amber Foxx (amberfoxx) | 37 comments Finished and loved The Pot Thief Who Studied Pythagoras. Gave it five stars. Finished and liked Double Duplicity. Three and a half stars if GR would let me do halves. The former is more unconventional in its plot and characters, the latter more of a traditional cozy, though enhanced by a touch of the mystical. Now reading the very unconventional, mystical and beautifully written book two in the Mysterious Marsh series When The Tide Turned.

message 18: by Ellen (new)

Ellen | 18 comments Finished Bone to be Wild by Carolyn Haines and now reading The Wolfe Window by Victoria Abbott.

Amber Foxx (amberfoxx) | 37 comments Could readers give the GR links with the titles of the books they enjoyed? Most of you do, a few don't. I like to click on them (I know I can enter the titles and search but I type everything wrong...) and see if I would be interested. Thanks.
