Silver This is one of those books that I would normally thought of reading or really thought of as being the sort of thing that I would be interested. Though I had heard about it for a while, I really didn't have any particular interest in reading it until I saw the preview for the movie.

The movie looked quite intriguing and sparked my interest in wanting to read the book, so considering that I wasn't really over eager to read the book or didn't expect it to be something I ordinarily would like I was quite surprised by it.

It is quite beautifully written and drew me into the story instantly upon reading. It is quite easy to read and rather engaging. One of the things that I enjoy the most about the book is the juxtaposition between Heaven and Earth, as I have always been fascinated by alternative realities, and that is one of the aspects that intrigued me in the previews.

Though after a while the book does start to get a little slow for me, it begins to get to a point, where the going back in forth between Susie watching the events unfold upon earth starts to drag on and you find yourself just waiting for something to actually happen. It starts to feel as if the story is trying to build up to something that never quite happens and it just fizzles, but I am not done yet, so maybe it will take a new turn.

Chris (azzie) I haven't seen the movie but it does seem apparent that the movie takes a different direction than the book. This is what has stopped me from watching the movie, actually, because I'm not uncertain how far they took it when they changed the direction of the story.

galya I started reading the book, but found it boring. I'm willing to give it a second shot.

Silver For me after the opening the book never redeemed itself, it is pretty much boring all the way through, and I did not care for ending all that much.

Araceliy (catstoy101aolcom) | 1 comments I agree, I found the book boring as well, I don't remember reading it all the way through since I read it so long ago. Mustn't have been that memorable...

Stephanie (Reading is Better With Cupcakes) (imjustcupcake) I really enjoyed the book personally. I also finally saw the movie. I was disappointed in the movie...but that is the story for most books to movies =(

I will admit that there were points in the book that were slow. However, when I got to the end, I was glad that I stuck it through.

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) A friend of mine recommended this novel to me, and I thought it was a neat perspective. It wasn't nearly as good as I had thought it would be, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
