I will admit that there were points in the book that were slow. However, when I got to the end, I was glad that I stuck it through.
The movie looked quite intriguing and sparked my interest in wanting to read the book, so considering that I wasn't really over eager to read the book or didn't expect it to be something I ordinarily would like I was quite surprised by it.
It is quite beautifully written and drew me into the story instantly upon reading. It is quite easy to read and rather engaging. One of the things that I enjoy the most about the book is the juxtaposition between Heaven and Earth, as I have always been fascinated by alternative realities, and that is one of the aspects that intrigued me in the previews.
Though after a while the book does start to get a little slow for me, it begins to get to a point, where the going back in forth between Susie watching the events unfold upon earth starts to drag on and you find yourself just waiting for something to actually happen. It starts to feel as if the story is trying to build up to something that never quite happens and it just fizzles, but I am not done yet, so maybe it will take a new turn.
