Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) | 195 comments Haha, I hadn't really noticed actually. But I haven't read any of her books yet unfortunately. I'm getting clser to them, but Books-A-Million didn't have City of Bones and I haven't been to the library in forever.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

I've told Zakiya she needs to get to them soon. I surprisingly loved City of Bones. The whole theme was great. And who doesn't love a bad boy who loves to kill demons? Jace, why are you living in my area? LOL! Just picked up City of Ashes.

Andrez (andrez-ssi) yeah, I love that in city of ashes "You Might want to lie down," Magnus advised. "I find that it helps when the crushing sense of horrible realization sets in.""
or
""Is he dead?" he inquired. "He looks dead."
"No," snapped Maryse. "He's not dead."
"Have you checked? I could kick him if you want." "

Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 150 comments Yeah, the one about sarcasm in the first one made me laugh.
("Sarcasm is the last refuge of the imaginatively bankrupt."
"I'm sorry. I use my rapier wit to hide my inner pain")

message 11: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) yeah I really lauhd my sox of with that one...and the ebay thing too.and this one
"Jace: Do you remember back at the hotel when you promised that if we lived, you’d get dressed up in a nurse’s outfit and give me a sponge bath.
Clary: It was Simon who promised you the sponge bath.
Simon: As soon as I’m back on my feet, handsome.
Jace: I knew we should have left you a rat.

message 12: by Jordan (last edited Feb 06, 2010 12:49PM) (new)

Jordan (flyinglogicmonkey) | 150 comments Yeah, and the thing with Simon. (something along the lines of..."Jesus!" Luke exclaimed.
"Actually, it's just me," said Simon. "Although I've been told the resemblence is startling.")

message 13: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) yeah that was sooo funny, i even reread it some times for a laugh

Cara | 44 comments I was surprised I totally got hooked on these books. I usually shy away from things that reek of vampires and wolves but this was done too well and like everyone mentioned I just loved all the funny parts:D

message 18: by Maii (new)

Maii (maiita) | 62 comments the funny parts are great

message 19: by **Carla** (new)

**Carla** These books are awsome... I am totally with you Leonor. They are my Favourite books ever. I was in love with the Twilight series but these books totally blew me away and there was no question of debating that they topped Twilight in everyway.I still really love twilight too...but come on how does Edward/Jacob compare to Jace **heart**. And I love the variety of characters inthe books and their roles!!!

message 20: by Maii (new)

Maii (maiita) | 62 comments you are soo right Carla..i totally agree

I'm with you. Cassandra Clare can write a riveting novel that locks you in. I was more into her books more then Twilight. Her characters also had way more depth.

message 23: by Maii (new)

Maii (maiita) | 62 comments totally the chatacters were great..and you can actually connect with them and be happy when they're happy etc..

message 24: by **Carla** (new)

**Carla** hahaha I know what you mean. I the book that I can feel the character's emotions while I am reading it.

message 26: by Caitlin (last edited May 30, 2010 11:29PM) (new)

Caitlin | 13 comments I've never actually read any of her novels. But, back in the day, she wrote Harry Potter fanfiction (called Draco Dormiens, I believe), and it was pretty darn good. (I was only ever into HP fanfiction, b/c I felt like I might die if I didn't find out what happened. I was 11 (: ). Of course, once she was published, it was taken off of all of the websites. But it's still floating around the internet. One of the days I'll catch up with the rest of the world and pick up her books.

message 27: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Pfaff (kl_pfaff) When I was 13, I was like that with Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The summer after the first season I went nuts waiting for more and read fanfic after fanfic online....

I never read Harry Potter fanfic though. I probably would read Cassandra Clare's though, because she rocks.

message 28: by Maii (new)

Maii (maiita) | 62 comments after i finished the MI series i started reading the fanfic..it's really good

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

I didn't know about the fanfic for HP. I'll have to look for her work. And it sounds like several of you like it. I'll look forward to reading it:)

message 30: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) im so happy!!CC came to lisbon and she signed books and answered questions!! some of you told me some questions, here are the answers:
How did she come up with her characters, were they based off anyone she knew?
Jace - for jace, she wanted someone who seemed sarcastic and tough on the outside, but on the inside to be sweet and vulnerable. she also wanted him to look as angelic as possible, and in all of the paintings, angles have golden hair and eyes. not based on anyone she knows.
clary - first, you need to know how she came with the idea of shadowhunters, so, im answering to the question below too. she got her inspiration while visiting a tatoo shop of a friend of hers who is called valerie, she is petite, red haired and tough!!sounds like someone you read?
Simon - simon is a mixture of her boyfriend and her best friend

How did she come up with her topic?
as said before, she was visiting a tatoo shop and her friend told her that warriors used to wear tatoos and an i dea came: modern warriors who fight evil

Did she have any decision on her cover art?
no, she didnt.though in the 3rd book she did demand for sebastien to be there

what was the weirdest thing a fan has ever said to you?
a fan in madrid waited for hours on a line with no book. when it was her turn, she asked if she could smell her (psychoooo)

i think thats all

Jen (In the Closet With a Bibliophile) (Jen_thebibliophile) | 300 comments HA! LOL! Seriously, that is psycho! How was it? Did you take pictures? You must post, post, post! You should tell all about this experience and everything and any pics and stuff on the blog on your day. You don't have to post a review, just something book, writing, author related and this story is excellent!!!

message 32: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) lol i remember there was a girl and she asked in portuguese whether sebastien had died and cc didnt need a translater because she said she understood the question in pretty much every language, that made everyone laugh.

PS - i took some pictires of the books, theyre on my profile

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)
