I'm reading Definitely Dead by Charlaine Harris. I have just started this sixth book in the Sookie series but have loved the first five so am sure I'll love this too!!!!

message 3: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) I am reading Lover Avenged(#7) the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. It is better than Lover Enshrined #6, which is a relief. I am enjoying it. This is the last one in the series, the next one being released in a few months, so I will be looking for a new series soon......

message 4: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 3 comments I'm currently reading Vampire Academy and not really into it so far. The last (and only) books I've read from this genre are the twilight series and fallen so vampire academy is really different. I'm just having a hard time getting my head around all the differences and keep comparing it to twilight which is really stupid and I wish I could stop!! Lol
having said that I'm only about 80 pages into it so will keep reading and see what happens!!

message 5: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Rose (amandarose) | 11 comments OHhhh BDB is my favorite series of all time!!! Can't wait for Lover Mine to come out.

I'm currently reading the lords of the underworld series by Gena Showalter. eh, it's not great but it's keeping me busy for the time being.

Ok, sounds like it is REALLY good!! I'll go get a copy of the first book and read it next then!! Better than, or just different to, Twilight or Anita Blake??? Were going to be current and next reads.........

message 9: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Rose (amandarose) | 11 comments ok... Anita Blake (another one of my favs although by the end i wanted to slap her) and twilight (very "highschool")
Umm it's not like either of them. Black Dagger is about male vampires finding their mates. It's a complete different vamp world than what you would expect. Not sure if the sex bothers you in books but there are some sex scenes in bdb... which IMHO I LOVE!!!

message 10: by GinBee, Founder & Mod (new)

GinBee (jennymbee) | 4468 comments Mod
Thanks Amanda, I'll go for Black Dagger next, Anita Blake can wait. But I do feel I have to get Twilight read:) I know this might be unusual, but none of the books I've read so far have had that much sex in them, well there were a few scenes in Sookie Stackouse, but I don't think I'll mind too much if bdb has sex in it;)

message 11: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Rose (amandarose) | 11 comments oh trust me once you meet the men you wont mind the sex one bit!! heheh

message 12: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Amanda, you make me laugh! :D

Went to get the first book in the Black Dagger Brootherhood series today - the first six were on offer for about the price of two books!!! Must be a sign I have to read them now! Needless to say I bought them all and will start to read later - I have high hopes :)

message 16: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Rose (amandarose) | 11 comments wahoooo!!! let me know what you think

message 17: by Ashley (new)

Ashley I'm not reading a paranormal romance at the moment but instead I'm devouring ANCHOR AND STORM by Kate Poole. Its and erotic historical romance that was recommend to me by a friend. So far so good.

I should be receiving copies of the Urban Fantasy debut release from Skyler White called AND FALLING, FLY in the next week as well as Sophie Renwick's paranormal debut VELVET HAVEN. Both look like they're going to be excellant reads.

message 18: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (readsbydanig) | 20 comments I'm reading embraced by darkness by Keri Arthur.. It's a werewolf/vampire series!! I really like it.. At times it can be really slow but it picks up and moves quick!! I'm also reading blood noir: Anita Blake series by laurell k. Hamilton!! I love this series and I'm getting closer and closer to the new book coming out... FLIRT!! I can't wait! I don't want this series to ever end!! Lol!

message 19: by Catherine (new)

Catherine I'm working my way through the Riley Jenson series too and trying to get my hands on the sixth one at the moment. I really like the series and I love how Riley such a strong female lead. There are some parts in the books that make me a little uncomfortable though, but not enough to stop me from reading them!

message 20: by Book Huntress (new)

Book Huntress (bookhuntress) | 30 comments Jen I am SO glad you picked up the BDB series, it is SO good and well I just love those brothers.

Regina I have to agree Lover Enshrined from BDB series was my least favorite so far, not sure why but Phury just doesn't do it for me like the other brothers do. Lover Avenged madfe up for it though!!! and can't wait for Lover Mine to come out!!!!

I have to admit that I got the books for Christmas so I am actually rereading the entire series while still reading new books, they are just like that comfy chair I love to go to.

message 27: by Lynne - The Book Squirrel (last edited Feb 11, 2010 10:09AM) (new)

Lynne - The Book Squirrel (squirrelsend) Yes but to me it made no difference! All the characters in the stories were different anyway! I did read Bitten first!

message 28: by Susan (Suz) (new)

Susan (Suz) (sharney) Yeah you have a point, I'm just weird that way I HAVE to read them in order regardless... LOL, LOL

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm a Multiple book reader so i'm currently reading 5 books. Here's my list Iron Kissed (Mercedes Thompson, #3) by Patricia Briggs [image error] The Accidental Werewolf (Accidental Friends, Book 1) by Dakota Cassidy Wicked Enchantment (Dark Magick, #1) by Anya Bast Naked Dragon (Works Like Magick, #1) by Annette Blair ,all of them are really good so far.

message 31: by Susan (Suz) (new)

Susan (Suz) (sharney) Dang Kat, that's impressive! How do you keep them all straight!?

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

It's pretty easy I usually try to pick books that are different form each other, diffent creatures different kinds of stories. I read a couple chapters in each one at a time but usually I find one or two will stand out from the rest and then they get more attention, but I don't find it hard at all.

message 33: by Susan (Suz) (new)

Susan (Suz) (sharney) Wow good for you Kat, I'm envious ;) I've done 2 at the same time and I found it a bit challenging, but not impossible ;)

message 36: by Christie (new)

Christie (cibarra) Wow Kat! Very impressive!

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm constantly challeneging myself to see just how many I can read at one time, if I find 5 easy next time i'll try 6 just to see if I can do it....lol!

Lynne - The Book Squirrel (squirrelsend) I have 12 books on the go right now, I go from one to the other, which ever one takes my fancy.

I also listen to at least 3 books on audio as well, one on my stereo, one in the car and one on my laptop.

I have always read several books at a time since I learnt to read so guess its something I have learnt to do.

message 39: by GinBee, Founder & Mod (new)

GinBee (jennymbee) | 4468 comments Mod
Wow Lynne, 12 books at once!!!!!! How do you keep track of all the different stories?

I can manage 2 books, one is at home one my at work lunchtime read. I sometimes have more than one on the go at home but usually because I change my mind what to read, I read all the second book then go back to the first so not really actually reading them at the same time!!

GinBee (jennymbee) | 4468 comments Mod
Suz, I'm nearly half way through now and am really enjoying it:)

message 41: by Lydia (new)

Lydia | 24 comments I am currently reading a few books:

Need by Carrie Jones, A Touch of Dead by Charlaine Harris, Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan(actually listening to this one in my car)and Kiss and Hell by Dakota Cassidy.

I think I'm going to try and throw in Moon Called by Patricia Briggs next week.

Christie (cibarra) Lydia wrote: "I think I'm going to try and throw in Moon Called by Patricia Briggs next week."

Lydia, Moon Called is fantastic! I hope you enjoy it.

message 43: by Christie (new)

Christie (cibarra) I finished First Drop of Crimson by Jeaniene Frost and liked it. I recommend it to those that enjoyed Frost's Night Huntress series. I know it's supposed to function as a stand alone novel but if I hadn't read all of the Night Huntress books I would have been confused.

I started Spell Hunter and The Postmistress (not PNR) today.

message 44: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jnhart) Right now, I'm reading Blood Rites (The Dresden Files, #6) by Jim Butcher which is #6 in the Dresden Files series. It is (like all the other Harry Dresden books) fantastic!

message 45: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Touch the Dark
I'm about halfway through but I'm finding it quite hard to get into, so I can't really say whether I like it or not yet.

message 46: by Susan (Suz) (new)

Susan (Suz) (sharney) I finished Death's Mistress (Dorina Basarab, #2) by Karen Chance this weekend and have started Blood Noir (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #16) by Laurell K. Hamilton

Catherine - I had the same problem with the Cassie Palmer series! Altho I have read the first 3 and have 4 at home, which I hear is the best of them all... I have to say her Dory spin off is much better!:)

message 47: by Catherine (new)

Catherine That's good to know, I thought it was because I've been so busy with my college work lately that it's effecting my reading! I didn't know she had a spin off series so thanks for the tip, will have to check it out now! :)
