stormhawk | 1184 comments A lot.

The roads are closed except for emergency personnel.

That's how I got to work.

Emergency personnel. An ambulance came to take me away. Ho ho, hee hee, ha ha.

It has been snowing like gangbusters since yesterday. It might start tapering off around 2am, which is a long way away from now.

I'm here for the duration.

If I can offer any reasonable advice, it would be this:

Don't take a job in an "essential" industry.

Double for don't live 3 miles from work.

Kristina | 778 comments There is tons of glorious snow here, too. I'm also, unfortunately, "essential" personnel. So essential that I effectively did nothing for 8 hours today but got paid to do it. Another co-worker and I switched our hours to work in the evening tomorrow so we don't have to see our supervisor. That should make our day a little better.

Jackie (thenightowl) I live 2 miles away from work and was forced to go in too although I'm not "essential" it just looks bad if I don't make the effort. My boss left at 1 pm and didn't even say to the 3 of us left to just go home. We have to either make it up or take it as PTO. I think it's BS...we should have been rewarded for at least making an effort to come during a blizzard.

Kristina | 778 comments Aw. That sucks. When you guys saw the boss leave you should've just sneaked out! At least you guys don't live terribly far from work. I'm 29 miles out.

::Looks out the window at bright and sunny day:: Sigh, it's doesn't snow where I live. It just gets cold and sometimes windy, or rainy or sometimes all three (if it actually happens to rain... 10th year of drought sucks big time!)

stormhawk | 1184 comments The last of the monstrous piles of snow are melting, still there, though, that awful, grimy, black and gray snow that makes you hope spring will come sooner. Today's rain will wash more of these granite-like piles away. March is coming in quite lamb-like in Pennsylvania, and since we don't have Salt Marsh Harvest Mice*, I worry that the Lion will roar and March will go out with a blizzard. We've had Easter snow before ...

Roseann | 38 comments Don't get mad at me, but it hit 83 here yesterday and I want to cool down! Please don't throw snowballs at me ;-).

stormhawk | 1184 comments Mine are all gone. It will be 70+ over the weekend. I do not like summer. I would like to enjoy some spring before we get into the beastly hot and humid part of the year.

message 9: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) We're at 70 today and for the rest of the weekend. Whooohhoooo! But it's supposed go back to 40's and 50's next week. Boooo!
