'Aussie Rick' (aussierick) Hi folks, here are a few recent books that I'd like to offer as suggestions:

Shenandoah 1862 Stonewall Jackson's Valley Campaign (Civil War America) by Peter Cozzens by Peter Cozzens

Southern Storm Sherman's March to the Sea by Noah Andre Trudeau by Noah Andre Trudeau

Vicksburg, 1863 by Winston Groom by Winston Groom

[image error] by Richard Slotkin

The Bonfire The Siege and Burning of Atlanta by Marc Wortman by Marc Wortman

War Like the Thunderbolt The Battle and Burning of Atlanta by Russell S. Bonds by Russell S. Bonds

[image error] by William L. Shea

These are all campaign/battle based, if you felt like some biographies let me know and I will see what titles I could suggest.

I am keen to hear back from the rest of the group if any of these titles interest them in a group read.

"No Quarter" and "War Like A Thunderbolt" sound particularly good. Of all of them, do you have one that you favor?

Jim (jimpchip) I'll second (third?) the idea of reading the No Quarter The Battle of the Crater book with my second choice being the Shenandoah '62 Campaign Book.

There is one that I bought a while ago that is quickly making it to the top of my reading list:

Mountains Touched With Fire Chattanooga Besieged, 1863 by Wiley Sword Wiley Sword

Admittedly. I'm not that familiar with the Tennessee campaigns as I am with the Eastern ones.

All that being said, they all look good and I read about a year ago the April, 1865 book that was mentioned elsewhere and I would encourage reading it as well.
