Ez (ezrah-rah) Hi, all! First, I’m not sure where exactly I should have put this topic, but this category seemed to fit best. If it should go somewhere else, please let me know!

I’ve never read a book featuring a bisexual character and I was wondering if anyone would be able to recommend one (or some) to me. I’d be most interest in a female protagonist being torn between her love for a woman and her love for a man, but I wouldn’t mind a male protagonist, too. I also wouldn’t mind something where the characters settle into a threesome (M/M/F or F/F/M), but I’m not looking for smut/erotica. I’m just interested to see if anyone has pulled off a good story like that. I’m a romance novel fan, so I’d also prefer something without a sad or tragic ending.

Can anyone recommend something for me?

Thanks in advance!

Ralph Gallagher | 210 comments The book that comes to mind is Twin Temptations by Carol Lynne. It's part of her Goodtime Boys series. It is more of erotic romance and it has twincest, so I dunno if it's your cup of tea, but I did enjoy it. If you want to read it, I suggest reading the first three books first since you'll miss a lot of the story without them.

Also, the main characters in Luck in the Shadows and the rest of the Nightrunner series are bisexual. It's a fantasy story with a romance side plot and are very interesting.

I hope that helps. =)

Ez (ezrah-rah) Thanks! I don't mind erotica or twincest, I just didn't want it to be a PWP, know what I mean? I'll check that series out.

I actually already have the Nightrunner series on my TBR list! I just need to get around to reading it. I hadn't realized the characters were bisexual.

Ralph Gallagher | 210 comments Twin Temptations isn't exactly PWP, but it is a fluffy, feel good read. If you don't go in expecting something that will challenge the way you think, you'll probably enjoy the read.

Ez (ezrah-rah) I added it (and the rest of the series) to my to-read list. Sometimes a fluffy, feel good read is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks again!

Nancy | 2838 comments Robyn Ochs' list of best bisexual fiction

I haven't read any of the titles mentioned, but do have Seeing Dell on my shelf and I've enjoyed books by Marge Piercy and Tom Robbins.

Ralph Gallagher | 210 comments I've read Geography Club and I loved it. Brent Hartinger is a great author. =)

Oh, thanks a lot, Nancy! Some of those titles sound interesting.

Nancy | 2838 comments Brokeback Mountain by Annie Proulx is a bisexual novel not mentioned on the lists I posted.

Nancy | 2838 comments Naked in the Rain by Eowyn Wood also explores bisexuality and was one of our group reads.

Ez (ezrah-rah) Thanks for the additional recs and the link to the BWA. Looks like I'm going to have quite a few books to read. :)

Hazel Gold (hazelgold) | 6 comments *Scribbles furiously* Not like I need an even bigger TBR list, but what the hell.

The number one bisexual novel I hear about all the time is Virgina Woolf's Orlando, but I haven't read it yet, so I can't give my own opinion.

Ez (ezrah-rah) I've added Orlando to my to-read list. I'm tempted to check out the movie with Billy Zane and Tilda Swinton, too, but I might wait until after I read the book.
