I was wondering if anyone in the group had read some of the books authored by Reinhold Messner? I have plans to tackle a few of his, but since he has written so many, I am looking for recommendations. I was planning on reading some of his newer books, but figured I'd ask.

Also, are there any other books by mountaineers who have climbed all fourteen 8000ers that group members would recommend? Thanks.

I would recommend 'To the Top of the World: Alpine Challenges in the Himalaya and Karakarom'.... One of Messner's books.

As for climbing all 14 8000ers .... Ed Viesturs book called 'No Shortcuts to the Top...Climbing the Worlds 14 highest peaks' is pretty good.
