message 2: by Catamorandi (new)

Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) I know quite a few, but I can only come up with one at the moment. That would be the classic one. Able was I ere I saw Elba. I will try to wrack my brain for some more, but it hurts when I think that hard.

I am in a quandarry...am I Bed, Eibbed, or Harobed??

message 12: by Ken, Moderator (last edited May 15, 2008 06:43PM) (new)

Ken | 18714 comments Mod
Two r's in quandary? Didn't know THAT "Britism."

Anyway, I vote "Harobed," though it does sound a tad like harridan, which would make a terrific word for the day.

message 13: by Debbie, sardonic princess of cheerfulness (new)

Debbie (sardonicprincessofcheerfulness) | 6389 comments Mod
Sorry....typo!!!!
My ex would probably define harridan as me(or should that be the other way around?)

message 14: by Ken, Moderator (new)

Ken | 18714 comments Mod
Either way. And palindromes are not backwards words, they are backwards words that are also forward words, meaning we're straying a bit from Meridee's premise.

Otto (I left out the "man" for Sarah's sake. Once she gets going on that ottoman story, there's no stopping her.)

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

aww-- you've already got part of my personality pegged :) I like "good ol' days" stories and reminiscing-- it's one way I feel connected (even if it is through my WiFi broadband satellite internet provider).

My palindrome for the day:
Never odd or even

message 16: by Debbie, sardonic princess of cheerfulness (new)

Debbie (sardonicprincessofcheerfulness) | 6389 comments Mod
Dr Grammette says that should be 'Never odd NOR even' which tends to stuff up that palindrome quite nicely!!

Right. And here I am wondering, "Who the heck's 'Banana Boy'?" before remembering what thread I'm in.
