Stephanie Plum - AKA "The Bounty Hunter from Hell". Stephanie may not be the smoothest, but she's like a pit bull when she's on the case. She's been known to beat up little people, hardly ever shoots anyone.

Connie Rosolli - Office manager at Vincent Plum Bail Bonding Company. She's got high hair, big boobs, and plenty of attitude. She takes grief from no one.

Vincent Plum - Stephanie's employer and cousin. A boil on the backside of the family tree.

Randy Briggs - A little person with a big attitude problem. Recently FTA on a carrying concealed charge.

Ranger - Stephanie's bounty hunter mentor. He's Cuban American, ex-military, a world-class tracker, and an all-around badass.

Lula - Former 'ho who now does filing for Vinnie. She's a big lady with a tight fitting wardrobe. She sometimes plays side kick with Stephanie on takedowns.

Grandma Mazur - Stephanie's sprightly grandmother. She like bingo, big guns, and male exotic dancers.

Helen Plum - Stephanie's mother. She's the model burg housewife. With a daughter like Stephanie, she has to do a lot of ironing to maintain her sanity.

Frank Plum - Stephanie's father. He's big on America, Buick, and automatic transmissions. He's not so big on Grandma Mazur and long conversations.

Fred Shutz - Stephanie's uncle. He's married to Grandma Mazur's cousin Mabel. Known as a cheapskate of epic proportions. He's recently gone missing.

Aunt Mabel - Grandma Mazur's cousin, married to Uncle Fred. She's a softer, rounder version of Grandma Mazur.

Eddie Gazarra - Trenton cop who is a childhood friend of Stephanie Plum. He's married to Stephanie's cousin Shirley the Whiner

Joe Morelli - A plainclothes cop with skills not covered in the policeman's handbook. He and Stephanie have something going, but its hard to say what.

Tank - One of Ranger's "interior decorators".

Mary Lou - Stephanie Plum's best friend. She has a husband and a few kids now, but she still likes to get into trouble with Stephanie on occasion.

Anthony Pino - Owner of Pino's, a burg watering hole. Some say they have the best pizza in Trenton.

Benito Ramirez - Professional heavyweight boxer from Trenton. He's a real sicko who's just been released from prison. Something tells Stephanie that he will be paying her a visit.

Bunchy - A shady character who turns up in Stephanie's life shortly after Fred goes missing. He tells her he's a bookie, but its pretty clear that he isn't.

Eddie - Ranger's mechanic guy. He works out of an unmarked garage at Third and Marshall. Looks a lot like Antonio Banderas.

Joyce Barnhardt - Stephanie Plum's arch-enemy. She was a horrible kid and now she's a full blown mutant human being.

Carl Costanza - Trenton cop who always seems to find Stephanie at her worst moments. He has developed a real appreciation for the havoc that she can cause.

"Big Dog" - Trenton cop who is Carl's partner. Everyone just calls him Big Dog.

Terry Gilman - Member of the Grizolli clan. She works for Vito Grizolli, a major figure in Trenton's underworld. She used to date Joe Morelli in high school.

Vito Grizolli - Family man who runs a dry cleaning business that launders a lot more than clothing. He is rumored to be moving up the corporate ladder of Trenton's underworld.

Uncle Manny - Morelli's uncle. He's a "construction expediter", which means that you pay him if you don't want any mysterious fires at your construction site.

Grandma Bella - Morelli's feared and revered grandmother. Some people believe that she has special powers, others believe that she's just wacko.

Keely | 104 comments Excellent, I 2nd that Amen!!!

Michael you forgot that Grandma Mazur also loves to go to Funerals. I'm sure it's not as much as she likes exotic dancers but it is pretty high on the list. :-)

I want to be like her also

message 9: by Keely (new)

Keely | 104 comments me too, except for Stephanie description of Grandma Mazur's sagging bosom. And the funeral fascination.

message 10: by Inky (new)

Inky | 37 comments This is one of my favorite Plums -- I love the chase scene Steph gets involved in during the wedding reception. I absolutely convulsed reading that scene, partly because Ranger was so amused by the whole thing.

I also think this is the book that really launches the whole Ranger mystique. We see how he works as Steph starts working for him. And boy, is that a view I realllly like:)

message 11: by Miss Kim (new)

Miss Kim (thatsmisskimtoyou) This was one of my favorites. Although, I was getting irritaed with Stephanie because she kept putting Morelli off. I really reallly really like Joe! At the end, I was hoping she called Joe, but it seemed like Ranger... I've already started Six, so I know who it is now. (yea!)

High five is a good one

message 15: by Angie (new)

Angie This is the first book so far I have had to wait on a waiting list at the library (in this series). So it must be good. I also think the library is cutting back on delivering books so often during the week because of gas prices which makes me have to wait even longer!

Keely | 104 comments Angie, Both 5 and 6 are two of my favorites!!! I laughed so hard my jaws hurt for days!

message 20: by Angie (new)

Angie Well I just finished this book and it is my favorite so far! I laughed out loud several times... I love it when they are telling stephanie that Ranger gave her the car for "butt stuff"! And finally I am getting to know Ranger. I am so glad book 6 is out because I am dying to know who the guy was at the end. I also love the part where Briggs says that he messed his pants. Now I don't know who I like Joe or Ranger.. it's so hard.

I am also glad that Stephanie is finding new ways to make money because I started to wonder about that. I also love the new cars in this book, though I am wondering where Ranger gets them. Great book!

Its better not to ask where Ranger gets his cars.

message 22: by Serah (new)

Serah Luna (serahlunareads) This is definitely one of my favorites so far. I'm reading them in order, and haven't read Hot Six yet. I'm dying to know who the "mysterious man" is in the last scene! Morelli or Ranger?? :)

I was cracking up at the part when Stephanie's Porsche was crunched by the garbage truck.

message 23: by Angie (new)

Angie I love the ending of this book! Keeps you guessing!

message 24: by Diana (new)

Diana | 8 comments It sure does keep you guessing. I finished it like at 3 in the morning and I just had to start on the 6th book to find out who she was talking to.
