Hello. I'm currently reading The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Katie, that is such an exciting read! I've pre-ordered the 3rd book for my nook, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest and can't wait until it's available!
I finished The Picture of Dorian Gray, and now I'm reading Bramwell Valley, by John Harold McCoy. Unlike the horror books I usually read, this is more of a light, whimsical story.

I'm going to preorder "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest", no doubt. I'm sad the series ends there. He had manuscripts for a 4th and 5th novel, and synopses for 5th and 6th novels, with a wish to put out 10 novels. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stieg_La...

The Picture of Dorian Gray is such a classic. And it fits in so well with the artistic/superficiality found in his plays. How did you end up liking it?
I've been thinking about reading Phillip Pullman's Sally Lockhart series because I liked The Golden Compass so much. Has anyone read it?

I enjoyed it. There were a couple of sections where it just droned on and on with uninteresting details, but it was a great story.

Welcome, Susan! I'm reading right now Horns. I'm enjoying it, although it's been "uneven". It keeps getting better as I go along, and I've become totally biased knowing that he's Stephen King's son. (Sorry, Joe, but it did influence me--although I'm suspecting he's going to be better than his dad over the course of his career!)

Just heard about this author a few weeks ago, can't wait to try one of his books.

Update on this book: I got all the way to end, and with the way it ended, I wish I hadn't wasted my time. I thought this book would be similar to a Dan Brown book, with history and plot, but the plot was lame. And in the end, it left me confused and wishing I had read something else.
I've finished
and am also disappointed in the ending. I still think it was uneven, parts being engrossing, parts quite lame, but the ending was especially bleh.

I was soo excited to start on the sequel catching fire, but when I went to purchase it, it's not even available for ebook.

Michelle, I'm also reading The Writing Circle for the bn.com book club. Not liking it yet, but I'm trying to keep an open mind for the rest of the book!
