Bunny (bunnycates) | 93 comments We do this on a "mommy" board I'm on and I LOVE it...

Its pretty simple.

Answer the questions left before you and then ask some for the next person.

Please remember: ANSWER the questions left immediately BEFORE your post, and be sure to leave 3 questions for the next person to answer!

01 - What is your favorite Book, why?

02 - In your opinion, who is the most infuential author of the 20th century, and why?

03 - What would be your last meal if you were on death row? (lol)

message 2: by Guido (last edited Mar 26, 2010 10:35PM) (new)

Guido Henkel (guidohenkel) | 244 comments 1) Mark Frost's "The List of Seven." Although there are a few books I could list as my favorites, "The List of Seven" always stands out for me as one of the most mesmerizing reads that I return to over and over again. I don't know exactly what it is I like so much about the book. It is a combination of the furious adventure, the great characters and the enjoyable narrative.

2) J.R.R. Tolkien. "The Lord of the Rings" is a modern classic that is amazing on so many levels. With it - and "The Hobbit" - he has single-handedly created the genre of high fantasy from which every fantasy author is borrowing to this date. Without Tolkien there would be no Terry Brooks, no John Ringo, no AD&D and so forth.

3) I think it would have to be a spicy Hungarian sausage with mustard and a piece of bread.

-----------------------------------------------------

01 - What is the most vivid nightmare you remember from your childhood?

02 - If you could rewrite an existing novel, which would it be, and why?

03 - Who is your favorite horror villain?

message 3: by Tracyene (new)

Tracyene | 12 comments 1. When I was about 4, I dreamed I was in a wooden (wood shelves, wood toys, wood walls) toy store shaped like a tower. I couldn't see the floor or the ceiling--it seemed to go on for ever--and I was hanging in mid-air, sitting in my wooden rocking chair. Scary, but I don't know why.
2. Dean Koontz's books always pull me in with the premise but then don't usually deliver.
3. Hannibal Lecter is the first one who comes to mind, but that seems so obvious. So does Annie Wilkes. But they're both creepy!

~~~~~~~
1. What book would you like to live in?
2. What author (living or dead) would you like to meet?
3. What would you like written on your tombstone?
message 4: by Paul (new)
Paul | 122 comments 1) I'm torn between Dune, LOTR and one of Louis L'Amour's Westerns for a book I'd like to live in. Think I'll opt for Dune, provided I could be one of the Atreides good guys (and survive). Or a Fremen Naib.
2) Thomas Harris. I think his works are stupendous. Dr Lecter - what a creation!
3) He gave it a go.
3. Is there an ending to any book that you wish you could change?
Tressa  (moanalisa) | 19903 comments 1. I loved The Mist but hated the ending. But I understand the kind of ending the director was going for.
2. The Ignored is my favorite Little novel. It veers from his successful-but-sometimes-stale formula and makes you feel for the ignored in society.
3. Yes, I met Robert McCammon for a minute at one of our library's book fairs. He's very nice. But I normally don't like to meet celebrities I admire because I'm too nervous and shy and they might be jerks.
1. I love the world and am happy with what I have, but I wish that other people could have the same oppertunities that I have. But, then again, I read lots of fiction because sometimes the world seems a bit dull.
