Chelsie (chipperchelsie) | 2 comments I religiously have read Jodi Picoult's books for years now and I have failed to find another author who can captivate my attention and just engage me in a novel like she can. I was wondering from the perspective of other JP fans, if they know of a particular author or even books that are somewhat comparable?

Jaime | 74 comments I really, really liked Diane Chamberlain's The Secret Life Of CeeCee Wilkes, which I read very recently. I found it a very engaging read; definitely a page-turner. It reminded me a lot of Jodi Picoult's writing. I highly recommend it and can't wait to read more by this author!

Sue Seligman (bookfan55) | 25 comments I agree with Jennifer and Amy about Kristin Hannah (Firefly Lane and Winter Garden are must reads) and Luanne Rice (also loved Follow the Stars Home). They write about relationships and contemporary issues, and are very emotional. I also love Jennifer Weiner; her books are gritty and realistic, emotional, and at times very funny! The best ones by Weiner, IMO, are Good in Bed (don't let the title fool you; it isn't smutty) and Certain Girls....the latter is a sequel to Good in Bed, but all of her books are great!

Rachel (oneofeach) I second The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes by Diane Chamberlain. It's VERY good. Another book that I've read that was good was The Year of Fog, and right now I can't remember the author.

Marti (marjay) | 8 comments I second all those authors already listed and might add to your list Chris Bohjalian - such as Midwives, Water Witches, Tran-Sister Radio and The Double Bind. Sometimes Anita Shrive's books are like this too like Testimony, Weight of Water, The Pilot's Wife and Light on Snow

I am going to enjoy looking more into Diane Chamberlain!
