Wait, I'm confused. Are you Laurel, or Robert?

message 3: by Laurel (new)

Laurel Hi. you have a way more interesting thread going up there (arrow pointing up). I'm Laurel and this whole thing will be nonsensical as soon as I change my avitar, I realize. But you guys have good discussions and just wanted to join in...though since I'm Robert Smith it makes me shy and stuff, of course.

Hi Laurel... welcome to our slice of the universe. Carry on.

message 6: by Paul (new)

Paul Bryant Robert Smith, where have I heard the name before. Oh yes...

http://www.nndb.com/people/517/000024...

I have Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, which is a pretty good record, and I got the Cure's best-of but that's it. Gorgeous cover art.

message 7: by Laurel (new)

Laurel I just liked this picture because of the hand gesture. It's Robert having an intellectual discussion in a zany t-shirt, what not to love?

Head on the Door has some classics, too. But for me, Disintegration is the best.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

Disintegration is my absolute fav Cure CD! Lovin You Laurel!

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Yuck, Stinky. The Cure didn't do anything truly good after Pornography. Plus, Robert Smith began his quest to morph into Liz Taylor at about that time. (The weird thing is he also stole Debbie Reynolds' husband.)

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Pft, I have Pornography as well, D is still my fav.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm sure you have lots of pornography, Stinky, but I'm glad that I'm your favorite. Love, D.

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, that could be a true statement as well, except I don't really have much in the way of actual Pornography...you know I love you mor'n my luggage!

message 13: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Steel Magnolias.

Of late, I've decided pornographic literature is idiotic. Stupid, stupid stories. Where does one find the good stuff???

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, I can't say I have none, I have that copy of My Secret Garden. While there are no pictures, the descriptions are very...uh...descriptive, heh!

message 15: by Sally (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) Amanda, didn't you once start a thread on Steel Magnolias? I love that movie.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Uh, that'd be me...Mandy, we are now interchangable, like Christian Slater and Kevin Bacon!!

It was something along the lines of: which character do you most resemble, identify with, (something of that sort)?

message 17: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Twins!

message 18: by Dave (new)

Dave Russell I wasn't aware Kevin Bacon and Christian Slater were interchangable.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Dave, yep...they are.

Mandy, I've always wanted a twin! :)

message 20: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) I'll be Mary Kate, you be Ashley. Then we'll switch and no one will be the wiser!!! Ha ha! The fools. We'll have them eating out of the palms of our hands in no time!!!!!

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Sweet!

message 22: by Laurel (new)

Laurel I apparently look like Elijah Wood from the third Lord of the Rings poster. Sheesh. But you can't tell from this picture, obviously.

This is how I tell MK and Ashley Olson apart these days: MK is the one that dresses like an old lady and Ashley has the big eyebrows.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Mandy, she just said you dress like an old lady! I know, I can pluck every damn day...it's the Greek, I can't really control them!

message 24: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) I dress like an old lady??? Hey, that's not fair, I... Ok. It's true. Sometimes I dress like an old man, too.

message 25: by Laurel (new)

Laurel But they are both ADORABLE and RICH--so the clothes and eyebrows don't matter!

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, so suddenly we're "adorable"...Mandy, is Laurel sucking up now just because we are so filthy rich?

message 27: by Laurel (new)

Laurel maybe...plus I like the wal-mart beauty products you made in the 90's...

message 28: by Sally (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) I don't find Kevin and Christian interchangeable as much as I do Dylan and Dermott.

message 29: by Sally (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) And sorry for the mix-up between you two, Amelia and Amanda.

message 30: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) No prob!!! :)

message 31: by Dave (new)

Dave Russell Jeez, Amanda, your last post and current avatar seem a little at odds with each other. In fact, the juxtaposition is making me giggle uncontrollably.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

D. Russ, I never pegged you for a giggler. I imagine you (when I take the time to imagine you) as a sneerer. That's not an insult. Giggling is for hippies.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

Sally, you're not the first to do it, that's where the joke comes in. Besides, like I said before, if you're going to mix me up with someone, I'm happy for it to be Mandy!

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

Laurel, I can't believe this thread died after only 34 posts...Disintegration deserves so much more!

(Shush, Davey...we already know you like Pornography honey!)

message 35: by Laurel (new)

Laurel Such is life and goth...

message 36: by Beth A (new)

Beth A | 38 comments Once I was at a bar and this cutie guy says to me, '"Disentegration" is the most technically perfect album ever made'. At that point, he was no longer cute. I like the album, a lot, but, I don't know, that was just a bit too knowitallish for my taste. Anyway, Hi Robert/Jasmine.

Amelia, why "Disentegration, did you find it technically perfect as well? Maybe I just don't like perfection. I prefer "Head on the Door" (saw that in concert I'm so old) and "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me".

Beth/Trixie and I prefer Racer X

message 37: by [deleted user] (last edited Aug 26, 2009 11:55AM) (new)

Beth, I wouldn't have the slightest idea what "technically perfect" even meant! It has simply been my favorite since I discovered them (like the new world...you know, no one was there before or anything) in the early 90's. Previously my sphere of influence had been rather...uh...crappy. Besides, Lullaby is on there, 'nuf said!

message 38: by Beth A (new)

Beth A | 38 comments Exactly, Amelia, technically perfect like my ass!
